AHHHHHHH! The pictures are cool, but I hate seeing the construction being done on the rides. It ruins the fantasy for me.
Trust me, it needed it. The last time I rode it it broke whatever immersion I had. With all this work going on, I just hope they update the bats by the first lift!!!

I love seeing construction ~ it's fun to see how the magic comes together. But I can see how some might not like to see behind the scenes...
This picture really illustrates the use of forced perspective though ~ I wouldn't have guessed this is so tiny, but you can see from the people standing there how small it really is!

Come on MadEye... You don't like the rubber bats hanging from fishing wire? Haha... I hope they do something like they did with the blinking wallpaper from the Haunted Mansion.

I don't even remember the bats, to be honest  I think it should probably be changed, then!

The only two places I will ever need to be are Manhattan and Disney World.

If you can see it, then it isn't fishing wire...

The possums (another way I've seen it spelled) didn't work the last few months before the refurb to the point that they just removed them. I'm referring to the bats around the first lift hill.

The animal, Didelphis marsupialis virgininanus is commonly known by two names. "Possum" if you're from the south, and "Opossum" if you're from the north. :)

Anyone know if the reopening is being delayed?

I've read on multiple Disney forums that "people" are reporting it is likely to be delayed by roughly 3 months because, surprise surprise, Disney put off the overhaul so long that there's more stuff to fix than they thought. But I can't figure out where online this report originated from, so I don't know if it's just a giant game of telephone or not.

Hoping it will reopen a few days early so I can ride it, but if it is delayed and that is why the Test Track refurb is on hold (also rumored), I'm okay with that. Test Track is one of my favorite rides in WDW, and I really hate to miss that.

There's always someone (or a bunch of someones in some cases) that want to stir the pot, so to speak. Until Disney officially says something about the reopening day, don't worry about it.

I don't see why BTMRR being closed longer would push back another refurb at another park. It isn't like they are closing the two biggest attractions in just one park (Test Track and Soarin at Epcot or Space/Splash/Big Thunder at MK as an example).

Guess we'll see. It wouldn't surprise me though if it takes longer. Also wouldn't surprise me if, even then, the effects still aren't back to their "normal" operating abilities.

The Test Track refurb being delayed, I believe. Why that would be related to BTMRR, I don't know, but I guess because suits wouldn't want two headliners down during the summer season. My opinion that it is delayed is based on 1. Some of the people who are sharing that info I consider reliable and 2. Can't remember which official site folks referred to, but Disney has deleted the press release from January from that particular website. All posts surrounding that announcement are still there, but the TT one is suddenly gone. Allegedly TT employees haven't gotten reassignment orders yet, and they should have before now.
