Trouble at the MK???
Here's an interesting article about Splash Mountain having some trouble lately. With BTMRR down and Fantasyland exp not open yet, they seem to be running Splash in B mode instead of closing it for refurb... Just like Disco Yeti.

That is sad. Does anyone know if Splash is scheduled for refurb anytime soon?

Re: Trouble at the MK???
Wow! What an interesting article! That is pretty bad show right there. I might expect that at a lower end theme park, but at Disney???
I wonder...if one of the suits' fancy-schmancy cars had a power window that didn't work properly, I'm sure they would be demanding their mechanic to fix it immediately.
What if the cause of that showpiece not working was a bigger issue that if left unattended could become a major issue and possibly put people in danger? I'm sure it's not, but safety should be the number one concern.

Are some of those animatronics older than the rest of the show? Like leftovers from America Sings or something?

That is a very depressing scene right there. I really hope it is not a major issue and Disney can at least try working on it during the third shift. I understand the need for keeping attractions open, but WOW.

Don't believe any at WDW are recycled. The ride opened before Horizons & World of Motion over at EPCOT closed and their AA's went into the recycling pool.MmeLeota wrote:I know they are at DL, but I don't know about WDW.disneylizzy wrote:Are some of those animatronics older than the rest of the show? That isn't surprising they don't shut it down since there really isn't a saftey issue and they rarely close more than one e-ticket at a time (at least with the coasters).
Re: Trouble at the MK???
-shrug- I didn't notice much of an issue. Normally I'm still in the "holy crap on a cracker that was a long drop!" mode and barely pay attention to that scene. It's not like all the animatronics in the whole ride are down...

I would venture to say that since the boat is still rocking, the casual guest won't notice the AAs aren't moving. It was sad to see the water effects where the turtles are weren't working this past December though. That is always a cute little scene with the water squirting just in front of your log!Soarin08 wrote:-shrug- I didn't notice much of an issue. There are always certain things I look for in an attraction, and on SM its the little things such as what you mentioned Amy. I love any kind of water effects and the water arching in front of the log, as well as the fountains within the tea pots always tickle my fancy for some reason, and am always a wee bit disappointed when they are not up and running properlyAmy wrote:I would venture to say that since the boat is still rocking, the casual guest won't notice the AAs aren't moving.
