I think MK should offer more for boys. I was impressed when they opened the dress like a pirate deallie at POC but then I was dissappointed to see that girls are going and taking up the slots. Can't something be just for boys? I mean really how would the girls feel if the slots at the princess boutique was taken up by boys!! I never really noticed this until I became an Aunt but really, the majority of MK is about girls, I say more for boys!!

(just kidding about the boys taking up the slots in the princess boutique so please don't yell at me :)

Well, that's all fantasyland, and many of the stories and characters used are princess heavy. The other lands are more gender neutral or favor men.

Clearly the parents of those who did not get into the pirate thingy did not love their children enough to get there first. :D

I really don't think the creative side of Disney ever does loose sight, but the financial side, that's a whole different story :mickey: !

Yea, I hear that. They have to try and stay current. I just hope they don't ever get rid of the classics, what's left of them anyway.

I think they update the MK enough to where you shouldn't be bored. I usually like tradition. So some of the attractions that have closed I really miss.
I liked the Tomorrowland time traveler. They replaced it with the Laugh Floor. I can see why, but I thought the 360 view was pretty awesome too.
The Alien encounter was pretty good too, and they switched that to Stitch's escape. I think that was to get it more appropriate for younger kids.
They obviously don't go backwards when they make changes, but I guess it would be boring if there were nothing new.

I do miss the Timekeeper attraction :( I didn't care for the monsters laugh floor this past trip, but I know a lot of people like it so...yeah, some change is necessary.

Not necessarily, they got rid of the "new management" in the Tiki Room.

And on whether or not I get bored with the MK, absolutely not. I could never get bored with Magic Kingdom, it's timeless.

That's more fan service using a parcel of land that had few options though. It's not like they can stick an E-ticket in there.

It could be fan service, but that isnt necessarily the only reason they switched back. The powers that be could easily have repurposed the space. It wouldn't be too far of a stretch to make it a Jack Sparrow meet and greet for a cheap change.

I think one of the biggest reasons they switched back is nostalgia, as evidenced in the renaming to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room (similar to the name of Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress). A mechanical bird Walt found on a trip was the spark for all AAs we see today. The Enchanted Tiki Room was the first attraction to feature AAs, and Walt had such a huge hand in its development. As a Disney purist, I’m happy it’s an homage to the original, and love the renaming.

I did hear about the Tiki Room. I actually never saw the original version, it was alway under new management ever since I had gone in it. But somewhere I saw the original on a video, it seemed pretty plain next to the new management. I'll miss aloha! (If I spelled her name right).

You guy's don't already have a jack sparrow meet and greet? (No, really)

I think they do a lot of the bringing up the name is simply to try and pull at the pursestrings of the fans that do care about the old stuff and to make it feel like there is some catering to their wants. You will notice that many of the old school rides from his era (though he did die before they were put in WDW) are all ones with little staffing, may be heavily dated with no updates, and may run on limited schedules. Even the merch is not that frequent, do they have anything for CoP?

ACK!! Don't let the powers that be see this, they might decide it is a good idea :(
