Okay, I've been texting with the Boilers all morning, and I'm happy to report that B-babe has given me the greenlight to post an update on their first day!
They had a smooth flight to Orlando, and arrived just in time to walk right onto the M.E. bus and head for the resorts with no delay! A good sign! The weather is beautiful, and she's been sending me some awesome cell phone pics. Hopefully they'll have some great ones to post when they get back. 8-)
Anyway, when they got to the Boardwalk, the room wasn't ready (which is not unusual when you arrive this early), so they decided to head over to DHS for some Mayhem. They first rode ToT, which was a walk-on... and only had 4 other people in their car!!! Unheard of! Then they rode RnR... and B-babe is happy to report that she rode it for the first time ever with her eyes open!
Here's an amazing tidbit: they happened to run into some of B-dude's family members, without even knowing that they were going to be there! How weird is that?!
Then after some more fun and frolics, they went back to the Boardwalk... where their room was now ready... and got checked in. They have a great room, and a great view, so they're very pleased. Fantastic day so far! As of this moment, they're getting settled into their room and resting up so they can be fresh and perky for EMH at Epcot! Woo hoo! I'll post more updates if I can, as events warrant. :D

Okay, B-babe just sent me some of her cellphone pics by email so here they are:

The most beautiful sight in the world for ToT freaks like them who first arrive at DHS on the first day of a new trip:

The view from their room at the Boardwalk:

B-dude, using the UV light to disinfect the room for bedbugs 'n such... just in case..

That's it for now! As I post this, they are in Epcot creating mayhem and prepping for EMH tonight! More posts to come, if I have a chance!

Very nice ~ they have an awesome view from their room!
No, no, no b-dude ~ don't lick the deathly disease door  Petting it is ok...but I hope you remembered to wash your hands afterwards
That is so sneaky how b-babe is getting you to post their trip report...now why didn't I think of that ;)
Thanks for keeping us in the loop M-dude :D

   Yeah, it would seem sneaky... except that I happily volunteered to do it.

Okay, so here's a pic of B-babe holding "the bear who must not be named." (shudder.... ).

I also just got a text from her saying that they visited the Living Seas, and could definitely see that something was wrong. No Rays, no Eagle Rays, no Zebra Sharks, and no turtles!! Oddly, they couldn't even find a C.M. to question about it. Something very wrong is afoot, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with the p.h. balance of the water like I said earlier... and/or possibly a bacterial infection. Poor critters.... :(

Wait a sec - Boilerdude will touch the disease walls like the honey wall at Pooh not caring about what infection he'll pick up, but then he's using the UV Wand on his resort bed?!?

Hey, is B-babe going to pick up a Duffy for Mouseoholic while she's there, or will your wife get hers when she's there in Jan 2012?

Okay, here's a quick synopsis of my "proxy report" for the Double Boilers' Day 2 so far:

Boilerdude shaved this morning so he wouldn't look so much like Grizzly Adams (see yesterday's pics...).
They didn't say what they did for breakfast, but I do know that they headed over to DHS fairly early and got in right at rope drop. First thing was to head over to TSM and try to get fast-passes. Well, a mere three minutes after rope drop, the standby line was already 65 minutes and the line for fast-passes was all the way out to the Animation Courtyard entrance!  So they blew off that idea and did the backlot tour instead. While there, Boilerbabe noticed Minnie's furniture and props in a warehouse (from MK, I inferred...), and Boilerdude noticed that the wood shop was in full operation. He told me that if I had been there, he's sure I would have jumped off the tram at that point... to which I replied "Yeah, I would have run in there and rolled in the sawdust like a dog on ....."
I'm not sure about all the other stuff they did after that, except that at one point they met up with some of the characters from Monsters Inc. Later, B-babe texted me that they were relaxing on a bench on Sunset Blvd, just soaking in the magic and waiting for their ADR's at Prime Time.

By the way, B-babe has not bought a stuffed "bear who must not be named," but she's considering it, along with a set of his "ears" to wear. I urged her not to succumb to the dark side. Also, Mouseoholic called me from Aussie land to tell me that she just booked our Wild Africa Trek for January! So I immediately let the Boilers know so they could book the same tour with us. If anyone else is interested, p.m. me... I'll tell you the date and time of our tour.

That's all I have for now. Updates forthcoming as events warrant.

I can't believe Toy Story Mania is that crazy that soon after park opening ~ that's amazing!

Here’s an update on the rest of the Boilers’ Day 2.

First of all, B-dude says I have to give Len some bad news: the “Mickey Boat” in the lobby of the Yacht Club is no longer there! B-dude was told by a C.M. that the statue was starting to crack, and was just too expensive to fix, so they took it out! Major bummer!

Now, I don’t have a complete “blow-by-blow” of their whole day, just some tidbits from texts they were both sending me. Apparently, lunch at Prime Time was a little disappointing. B-babe says the food was not as good as in the past. At some point after lunch they went back to their room for a nap to freshen up for a visit to Epcot later.

One of the highlights at Epcot was that they went to the Sum of All Thrills, where they created a ride called “The Stealth Screamer.” But at the last minute, B-dude got claustrophobic, and B-Babe went solo on the ride. She said it was pretty cool.

Later they went to La Cava Del Tequila for Margaritas, and B-dude decided to be brave and get the Jalapeno one! Well, it would seem that the Devil’s personal bartender was working that shift, because his ‘rita was so spicy it was burning him! Plus, I don’t think he realized that you’re not supposed to chew on the jalapeno chunks and seeds… unless you want to be burned! B-babe had the Wild Passion Fruit ‘rita, and was quite happy with it. Her exact expression was “Yeow!” :D After that they went on the Three Caballeros and chilled.

They got a pretty good spot for Illuminations, except that some smelly weirdo with a monster camera was being pushy and rude right next to them. I told B-dude to step on his foot. Never heard how that turned out.

Well, those are a few of the highlights. She texted me a bunch of pictures too, and I’m trying to email them to myself from my phone so I can download and post them, but for some reason it’s not working yet. The ones from yesterday she had sent directly to my email, so I had no problem with those. If I can get the new ones downloaded I’ll come back and post them.

I hope they are taking in some attractions while they are there too! I love Sum of all Thrills ~ my first ride was awesome but my second ride was not designed as well. I fired the engineer after that ride  ;) The Stealth Screamer sounds like an awesome name for a ride!
Smelly weirdo with a monster camera? M-dude, did you sneak down to see Illuminations while M-oholic is gone?! ;) I kid! I kid!!
pictures....pictures....pictures....pictures.......when you get to them, we're patient :D

Now, please bear in mind that these are cell phone pics that they texted to me. I'm sure they probably have better ones that they'll use when they get back and post their "real" report. :D

Hmm I'm trying to think about a Mickey boat in the yacht lobby. The lobby only has the globe while the Mickey in a boat was at the gift shop. If that is true then I'm glad I got to take some pictures of it before it went away.

I enjoying this live trip report. It almost feels like I'm right there at the parks with the boilers.

Yay for pictures. I'm guessing b-dude's smiling face was pre-jalapeno crunching
I love b-babe's bracelet ~ I have one of those that one of my piano students brought back for me a few years ago from WDW :mickey:
