How is everyone's training coming along?
We are doing pretty good here in NC. It's amazing what a trip to WDW will motivate you to do! :)
We have been running 5 miles pretty regularly with a goal to increase that to 7 by months end. I hope to be able to run 10-11 in December without feeling like I was hit by a train.

I can't wait to see everyone down there!!!!

Nice job WWDRH! I've been doing 5 regularly too. The humid weather has been difficult this summer along with a chronic injury I have. But, I'm working through it! I hope to run the 1/2 pain free in Jan.! We're leaving for a dive trip next week, so I will have to get real serious about my running upon our return! Keep running everyone!!!! :D

Good work, WWDRH! You're way ahead of me, that's for sure. I've had some glitches: foot pain for the last week or so, and now today I'm at home in pain... trying to recover from a nasty fall I took in a store parking lot yesterday. Messed up my neck, shoulder, hip, and knee pretty bad. Especially the hip. The whole thing is swollen and bruised pretty bad.
*sigh...* :(

Feel better M-dude! Hugs and Pixie Dust! Are you going to see a doc? I don't want you to suffer through something if it's not necessary! Also, I would contact someone where the fall took place and let them know. That's not right.

Thanks, B-babe. I'm not going to mess with a doctor unless it starts getting worse. I've been in enough kerfuffles in my life to know the difference between serious and minor injuries. At this point the doctor would only take x-rays and tell me nothing's broken (I already knew that...), and then tell me to take anti-inflamatories and get some rest (I already know that too...). So why pay for a doctor visit to be told what I already know?
Anyway, a security guard saw the whole thing happen. I had come around a corner of a landscape island where sprinkler run-off had been sitting for days growing algae... sliperry as snot... and when I stepped in it my feet flew out from under me as if I had stepped on wet ice. He stopped to see if I was okay, and after making sure I wasn't seriously hurt he went inside to report it. I had to gather up my groceries... plus I was now soaking wet and covered with slime on one side... so I didn't want to bother going all the way back inside.
In hindsight, I probably should have so I could get a copy of his written report... just in case... but I was a little stunned and not thinking clearly. Oh well, fortunately I don't think the injuries are serious... except my wounded pride....

Oh my! I hope you are feeling better soon! If things start feeling worse, you could always check back with the store. I'm sure they will keep the report for awhile. No M-oholic to make everything feel better either :( Feel better!!! :D

Yes--and my Sis-in-law. Actually...I blame her for my whole WDW addiction. She got my my wife to run in the WDW half in `07 and we stayed at POR as part of Team in Training. Been in love ever since...
*sigh* Where was I?

Great job yourself! Keep running---run through that pain... :)

We have decided that the 5K is not an option for us at this time, but we're hoping to be around to cheer everyone else on!!!!

I know the DL 1/2 isn't as exciting as the WDW 1/2, but someday I'd like to run it since the course (at least the last time I looked at a course map...a couple of years ago) takes you through Angel Stadium! Double bonus there!!!! (even though we got to run around the field as part of the 1 mile fun run/walk we participated in last year...took us 40 minutes  but that included the 20 million pictures we stopped to take...along with everyone else  )

Mousekedude!!!!! I am at a loss for words....If I were in Mouseoholic's place about now, I'd be going crazy because I couldn't be there to help you! I hope you are ok and not seriously injured!!!! I know that right now it may not seem like it, but if you get any worse, your butt (ok, your whole body, not just your butt ;) ) better get to the doctor. We can't have you with any issues that might sideline you for January!!!!

Thanks, all. The good news is that her parents are already on their way here from Corpus Christi (about 3 hours South of here). There's a family reunion (Mouseoholic's family... and she's not even here... ) this weekend in Fairfield (about 2.5 hours North of Houston), and they're stopping here for the night and tomorrow, so if I "crater" really bad, at least I'll have family here tonight to look after me. Mouseoholic is disappointed to be missing her family's reunion, but it couldn't be helped. We talk at least once or twice a day (her company gave her a VOIP connection, so it's a "local" call), so she is showing me plenty of sympathy.... over the phone...
Anyway, this is just a speed-bump. I'll be back in training before you know it. I'm as stubborn as Boilerbabe when it comes to that stuff.

That's good to know there will be some family checking in on you. What, might I ask, is crater-ing though?! Been in emergency services for almost 17 years now and never heard that one before :?

How did you know it was my butt (well okay, my hip... but also my butt by extension..) that took the brunt of the impact...??!!!

Don't tell me that's another "Texas-ism" you haven't heard...??!!! To "crater": to crash land into the ground so hard that you leave a crater... figuratively speaking... or literally in my case...

Thank you Dr. Amy... ;)

Yeah, I'm not familiar with crater-ing either...but thanks for the explanation!

As far as the butt thing goes, well that's just too funny!!! (the coincidence, not that you fell on your "extended butt")
But I must add that it's kind of a smart alec thing that hubby and I have.
