Excellent news, maybe this will help to thin the crowds a little bit, but for some reason, I doubt that it will. Either way, a show definitely worth seeing

Re: 7 days a week of....FANTASMIC!!!!!
This may just win me and my family back to Fantasmic (if Disney can make it a year-round thing). After an absolutely horrible experience last summer on one of the 2 nights it was offered the week we spent at WDW, we swore off Fantasmic for good. Thousands of park guests coralled for over 1 hour in the heat and humidity, watching other guests cut the line by using the accessibe path (and getting away with it) was just not pleasant at all, and really took away from the experience of a great show.
Fingers crossed!
Fingers crossed!
Can't get back to WDW soon enought, but alas, no immediate plans...

Maybe offering it more often will make the crowds more manageable. But it does sound like Disney needs to find a more effective method of crowd control...jeremyleo wrote:This may just win me and my family back to Fantasmic (if Disney can make it a year-round thing). Perhaps they should try for the WoC system? That is shockingly effective.

and for those of us that have never been to DL, what system is that?Wizzard419 wrote:Perhaps they should try for the WoC system? That is shockingly effective.

Crowd control really is bad especially when it is only offered a couple times a week. Getting out of there takes at least 45 minutes, at least it did when I was there. I'd think there'd be a much better system at hand for dealing with the crowds.mindflipper wrote:Maybe offering it more often will make the crowds more manageable. Do they use electric cattle prods on the crowds over at DCA for WoC?Wizzard419 wrote:Perhaps they should try for the WoC system? That is shockingly effective.

No, I suggested they use guns.
But anyway, WoC uses the FP system during the day to distribute tickets with timestamps and color-coded sections on them (not seat assignments) that way they have a steady flow of people coming in and line ups are not as critical.

That does seem like it would work for Fantasmic as well.Wizzard419 wrote:No, I suggested they use guns.

The only drawbacks are that they need more staff hours for the show since each machine is manned and would need a set of un-networked FP machines.

They already have several CM's dedicated to trying to keep some sort of order in the queues outside of the ampitheatre...Wizzard419 wrote:The only drawbacks are that they need more staff hours for the show since each machine is manned and would need a set of un-networked FP machines.

The extra CMs (unless they want them working longer than 8 hour days) would be needed to run the FP machines during the day, they still have crowd control for WoC, I think it's about 1 person for every 2 or so subsections.

Oh, they have more CM's than that for each section of WDW's version of Fantasmic. There are so many CM's to help load that stadium it is almost unbelievable!Wizzard419 wrote:The extra CMs (unless they want them working longer than 8 hour days) would be needed to run the FP machines during the day, they still have crowd control for WoC, I think it's about 1 person for every 2 or so subsections.
