Have they changed the queue very much?
mindflipper wrote:MadEye, give us some details about (if any) the interior changes.
Yes and no. Only thing changed in the first room is the Starspeeder (from a 3000 to an earlier 1000 model) and the advertisement and arrivals/departures screen. The big changes are in the second room and with that I will stay silent until tomorrow. If they don't want you to take pictures/video of the queue, I doubt they'd want a guest to spill the beans on a message board (I'm sure someone else has already somewhere) but I won't until it is officially open tomorrow. Patience is a virtue! 8-)

For those of you who have ridden the new one...do you think she would get sick on it like she did the old one? I have already told her she will be fine...so I am hoping I am telling the truth. ;)
I would think the new incarnation might be worse with the 3D. Does she have any problems with 3D movies?
I don't know that she has gone to see any 3D movies...other than the stuff at the Disney Parks. She loves Philharmagic...so maybe she will like ST2.
She might as well try it...if she doesn't feel well after the attraction, then she knows she will have to do some shopping whenever you want to ride it ;) If she feels ok afterward, then you were a smart husband by telling her she will be fine. Win-win either way!

C'mon, MadEye, time's not really a constant - it's all a matter of perspective. Today, tomorrow, yesterday - are you going let these terms be constraints in your actions?

Nope. I'm going to let Disney asking guests not to release any information (pictures, video, reports, etc.) online be a constraint on my actions... When I wake up tomorrow, I will do a report. Nice and detailed.

I'm guessing it's not going to be as much of a concern for the AP preview at DLR, their biggest note on the pass is that you can also buy stuff! (They made a bunch of AP exclusive crap for those that want to buy it).

Very noble of you. I have read some cast member reviews that have not held back details. Shame on them!

That's why I thought it was open already. I haven't seen any photos, but lots of details

hmm from what I've heard they've cleaned up the queue a bit and the robots interact with the guests a little more. I've heard the load area is pretty much the same but refreshed a lot to look more Stars Wars like. These are just some rumors that I've been hearing..

Now Madeye, can you pre-type your reply and post it at 12:01 AM ;)

Ok. Report time as far as I am concerned.

First off, the only things changed outside are the color of the building and the new poster. The AT-AT and Ewok village are still there. The outside of Tatooine Traders is still the same as well. Upon entering the building, you notice there is carpet for the first bit of inside queue and the "Hot Set" wall is gone, replaced by a wall that looks like it fits much better. The biggest change in the first room is the screen. No more green squares (something that I will miss). But the new screen shows many ads for Star Tours (the company), arrivals/departure on time info/gate numbers, and (I thought this was a nice touch) a weather report for different cities on the planets Star Tours goes to (more planets than the actual ride goes to). C-3PO and R2 look better than than they did when Star Tours (the original) first opened. Not much has changed with the Starspeeder except the burn marks are gone.

The second room is changed for the better. The droids are still there but one is a baggage checker (you can see inside the suitcases) with some hilarious outcomes and one is a passenger scanner (thermal images but I could be wrong). Rex is in the queue. There is a shipment of Rex's (I believe it is ever Rex from the first Star Tours) and the first one is malfunctioning and every now and then says something from the first Star Tours (no they did not change the voice of Rex) like "I meant to do that, hehe" and "Brakes. Brakes. Where are the brakes?" The rest just sit there. :( There is also a window from the previous queue that they now use as a way to show other "flyers" in silhouette form. From humans to Twi'leks (look it up) to a Jedi using a mind trick on a Stormtrooper. Keep an eye on it and you may see something you never expected.

As for the ride, I won't spoil anything as this is the reason the wait was worth it. But I will say that re-rideability is perfect. We rode it 3 times and had different planets each time and I think there are at least 2 other planets we still haven't seen yet. Between planets, a random Star Wars character will show up in holographic form (very cool effect, we got Yoda twice and Admiral Ackbar). We even had two different starting ports with a little something different happening when we got the same port the second time.

Anyway. I'm sure I've forgotten some stuff (or have I? ) Any questions you may have, just ask and I'll try and answer to the best I can.

We watched the opening on the Disney Parks Blog this morning! Though highly cheesy, I thought they really did a great job for the presentation.
I even got a real big laugh out of Mr. Iger and his trusty lightsaber....

Everything I've heard about ST2 really impresses me. They could have just slapped a new film in there and called it a day, but instead they really went all-out to make this as good as it could possibly be. I can't wait to ride it, even if I have to wait a year.
