LEGO Store reopens
So the LEGO Store at DTD had a little downtime (a temporary location was between Earl of Sandwich and Once Upon A Toy Store) to expand the store. It reopened with some new LEGO Disney scenes (Dragon in the water is still there but with a meaner looking face from what I can tell from the following video).

Re: LEGO Store reopens
The funny thing is there really was not much discussion about this. I never even realized that they were undergoing a refurb.

I did a search before posting about it and saw the only discussion about LEGO was in the "favorite DTD store" thread. So here it is.

Madeye any idea where the new Legoland is going to be sited in Orlando?
Re: LEGO Store reopens
Pretty far from Disney. From what I understand, it's taking the place of the closed Cypress Gardens (I could be wrong, it's just what I've heard). I mapquested it from where I live and reset the starting location to the closest WDW Resort (All Stars) and here is the information I got:Sleepy90 wrote:Madeye any idea where the new Legoland is going to be sited in Orlando?
Drive Time: 44 minutes (depending on traffic it should be a lot longer than that)
Drive Distance: 33.94 miles
The longest distances on roads to get there:
I-4 West: 7.3 miles
US-27 (horrible road considered a "highway" but with lots of stop lights and bad traffic): 18.8 miles
The rest are small distances compared to those two but there are a lot of roads to get there from 27.

We have no plans to visit Downtown Disney on our next visit, but this makes me wonder if we should change our plans? All 3 boys in the family (myself included) love Legos:).

The Digital Box blew me away. How cool! I don't recall this in the old Lego store - is it new?
Can't get back to WDW soon enought, but alas, no immediate plans...
Re: LEGO Store reopens
If it's what I'm thinking of, I've seen it at the Lego Store in the Palisades Mall. It's where it displays a 3D image in a screen when you hold it up to a camera, right?

If you have time, it would definitely be worth a visit. I would think you could find every kind of Lego you might imagine in that huge store!Brian845 wrote:We have no plans to visit Downtown Disney on our next visit, but this makes me wonder if we should change our plans? I would say take some time to visit the store. When I was really into building legos, that store was the most amazon place to me. They usually have every single set you see in the catalog in stock.Brian845 wrote:If it's what I'm thinking of, I've seen it at the Lego Store in the Palisades Mall. Yes - it shows a mirror image of you holding the box with the set displayed in 3D on top of the box.Brian845 wrote:If it's what I'm thinking of, I've seen it at the Lego Store in the Palisades Mall. It's where it displays a 3D image in a screen when you hold it up to a camera, right?

Something I've seen at LEGO store DTD and nowhere else: A giant Death Star from Star Wars. If I had the money, I would have bought it (I don't remember how much but close to $200).Amy wrote:If you have time, it would definitely be worth a visit. They might sell that at legoland or if you go to the site.

Re: LEGO Store reopens
It wasn't that one. It was a bigger one that was the total outside surface of the Death Star with openings for smaller LEGO Star Wars toys.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's $599. DS wants to save his babysitting money for one. I say, go for it, boy!MadEye wrote:Something I've seen at LEGO store DTD and nowhere else: A giant Death Star from Star Wars.
