You could post the last segment the day before you leave, then just start right back up when you return.Amy wrote:Thank for the kind words. There will be more to come...I do plan on finishing the report well before we take another trip...I hope!

I love the fiber optic pavement lights too! Those lights and the jumping fountains were always my favorites as a child and I guess we missed seeing them somehow or another on a few trips and then we didn't get to go for a few years (my college and my sisters school breaks never lined up). When we finally went back (the trip I got engaged on), I was so giddy when I saw them.

Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

Putting the picture in her mind that this is a never-ending cycle of trip reporting may encourage her post quicker...or not to post at all.Polynesian Princess wrote:You could post the last segment the day before you leave, then just start right back up when you return.
I thinking she'll get it done before Len90 posts his trip report from his upcoming summer trip...
That is, if her evil possessed Mac cooperates...

I have to go back at least once before 12/4, otherwise I spent a lot of money on an AP that won't be used to it's fullest extent!Polynesian Princess wrote:Aww, I meant it as an excuse to go right back.

That was the best thing about having an AP. "We HAVE to go back! Otherwise we're WASTING it!!"Amy wrote:I have to go back at least once before 12/4, otherwise I spent a lot of money on an AP that won't be used to it's fullest extent!

Well Amy, your pictures are triggering some serious EPCOT withdrawal in me.
I'm glad you had such a good time. And is it just me, or does one of those fiber-optic light patterns look kind of like the original Imagination logo?

Nope, that one does look very reminiscent of the original Imagination logo!Future Guy wrote:Well Amy, your pictures are triggering some serious EPCOT withdrawal in me.I'm glad you had such a good time. Amy and F1gment ~ Day 10
Today we started out a bit later start since we had been up until 2:30 the night before, well, technically I guess it was the, um morning, well, whichever it was, we were up late so we didn't get out to the bus stop until a little before 11.
We did a little shopping at the Animal Kingdom since we had another 20% off coupon on a receipt. It seemed a shame to let them go to waste
Since I had missed being able to walk around the Tree of Life and take photos at night during the evening hours, we decided to explore the path around the Tree this morning and take some photos...If you don't like the Tree of Life, you can skip this post....

If you look closely, there is a Paroon Shark-Catfish in this photo, but I liked the way the water came out all reflect-y...and the fish really was an amazing shade of blue!

Ok, back to the tree...

This reminds me of a duck my brother made in high school...

It's Buff from the Country Bear Jamboree!

Awesome pics Amy. I really want to spend a day at AK without the kids, so I can do something like this. It might make me appreciate the park more.

Thanks for the detailed pics Amy! I don't think I have ever gotten any up close pics of the tree and it's been so long since we've been there.
We're itching to go to WDW (or any Disney park for that matter) so badly right now. We really wanted to go in October, but I don't think it's gonna happen...

You're welcome. I figured I might bore a few people with so many Tree of Life photos but I find the detail so fascinating that I couldn't help myself!MmeLeota wrote:Thanks for the detailed pics Amy! Re: Dec 2010: Mayhem Invades Disney World!!!
A few more photos from around the Tree of Life...

And along the way...

After the Tree of Life, we decided we would head over toward Asia. I saw a sign for frozen cokes at the small shop just over the bridge. Now I like a good frozen coke, and even though it was still a bit on the chilly side, I decided I would use a snack credit to get one. Unfortunately it was awful!! I don't know if it was just an off day or the machine was not at the right speed or what, but it was just a frozen cup of blech
With that disappointment over, we headed over to the Maharajah Jungle Trek where we saw lots of different animals.

This tigger let us get reeeeaaaallllly close ~ and he didn't even try to eat us

This tigger thought about eating us, but he was toooo tired...

This tigger was awake and on the move...and now we're walking, we're walking...

The amount of detail in this area, heck, this whole park, is simply astounding!

Here behind the glass, we see the rare vacationing Tornacense populus

Even for the necessary areas, the theming is amazing.

I went for a ride on Kali River Rapids where oddly enough, I only got wet on one side
Not that I was complaining, it was just strange to me.

Re: Dec 2010: Mayhem Invades Disney World!!!
F1gment and I shared a snack of corn dog nuggets while watching the pre-show for Flights of Wonder. Baio was an Eurasian owl who was quite beautiful and quite intent on something or someone in the audience for a good portion of the pre-show.

This was the pose Baio struck for at least the last 2/3 of the pre-show. The trainer admitted that Baio was quite likely watching something with a great deal of interest, but there was no cause for concern...or something like that

The flights of wonder show is quite an interesting show, and also made quite entertaining by the wonderful CM's and their interaction with the different animals.

This CM in particular did an awesome job!

Mom and I had a great laugh during the show. They were mentioning the African grey parrot can be a challenging pet because it screams and bites. Our friend, who has nothing short of a zoo in her house, has an African grey named Skipper who screams and....yup, you guessed it, bites (but only sometimes). More common is Skipper actually asks when anyone is eating, "Skipper bite?"

Sorry, this little guy is a little out of focus, but he is so cute I had to include him!

I believe they said this bird's name is Grover...clever!

He is a little blurry too since the lighting wasn't great, but I have to show off him waving hello to all the subsonic people

This little tree reminded me of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree for some reason...

Some more photos along the way to seeing Nemo again...

This sign isn't quite as descriptive as it could be...it should read "Fish are tasty friends!"

Again, sorry it is a little out of focus, but I love that the expression on the CM's face matches Bruce's face!

This shot isn't blurry, it's action-y!

Mine...

Ok, that's where I will leave Day 10 for now. The laptop is still being naughty
