Oh, they are going to. It's just a question of when TDO wants to spend the money for it.Peerless83 wrote:I'm thinking they need to move forward with the long-rumored Monster's coaster!

The question also becomes "where?" MK and DHS layouts don't allow much room for expansion, and certainly not enought room for another coaster.MadEye wrote:Oh, they are going to. Re: Rides That Need To Be Renovated
Disney has moved roads to build. It's not a big deal for them, it's just a matter of cost. I'm not sure about the MK but I know it's an option at MGM (Yes it'll always be MGM).

They already have a spot picked out. Small but they have room to add to it backstage.mindflipper wrote:The question also becomes "where?" Studio 1. Between Toy Story and Backlot Tour. At least that's what I've been hearing. That can change between now and when they announce it.mindflipper wrote:mindflipper wrote:The question also becomes "where?" They'd have plenty of room if they got rid that foolish go cart show.

It was popular over at DLP's DHS. Does anyone know how good the crowds are for this show at WDW DHS?kcarts wrote:They'd have plenty of room if they got rid that foolish go cart show.

I'll put this here since technically Primeval Whirl was under renovation when this happened. Anybody have any further info?

Re: Rides That Need To Be Renovated
I haven't heard anything else, but my first guess would be a fall. While it doesn't completely rule out being struck by a moving car during testing, the description of the renovations that are taking place do not sound like they would require lots of testing of the cars running on the track this far from the reopening. Of course this is all just my guess, so I may be off. Hopefully we'll hear some more information soon and the cast member will recover well!
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!
Re: Rides That Need To Be Renovated
As much as I love technology, I wish all of WDW would be redone to the way it was about 15-20 years ago. I guess I'm a bit biased because that time frame is of my childhood memories, but I'm not a huge fan of almost every attraction being themed to a Disney movie. What really irks me is what has happened to Epcot. I'm no brainiac, but I did like the educational aspects that Epcot used to boast. Now, there are no more Living Seas. There are no more Horizons, nor Wonders of Life Pavilion, World of Motion, etc. If I could have ONE wish, it would be to return Epcot to that time frame (especially Spaceship Earth with Jeremy Irons)!

You won't find many people here that will disagree with you. With the advancements that have been made in the realm of AAs...you could replace most of the existing AAs to make them more realistic as well as probably cutting down on the overall maintenance. It's sad when you see how great Jack Sparrow is on POTC and then go look at the AAs on the Great Movie Ride.lonepalm wrote:As much as I love technology, I wish all of WDW would be redone to the way it was about 15-20 years ago. I also think that there are certain attractions that will always get the love...no matter how old they get: POTC, SSE, ToT, etc. These are probably the "signature" rides that guests expect to be top notch and will ride or whatnot every trip they take because they have that "Disney" spirit. Notice that these rides (and I'm sure there are some I left out) are ones that have been given refurbs and/or tune-ups in the past 5-6 years. If only TDO had this spirit back when we had Horizons, WoM, and JII were around...we might still have them today...and they would be up-to-par (one would hope).

Re: Rides That Need To Be Renovated
Horizons had loads of problems that combined ended that attraction's life. Unlike the other rides you mentioned such as POTC and SSE, World of Motion just didn't have the crowds. JII had also lost visitor traffic too. I don't think it would had mattered who was in charge at TDO - these attractions had to be replaced with something that would draw better crowds...

What sort of problems did Horizons have mindflipper? I don't know that I have ever heard that before...mindflipper wrote:Horizons had loads of problems that combined ended that attraction's life.
