DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget

Just saw in a MiceChat update that the grand opening of Little Mermaid and Star Tours is supposed to be June 3rd! That is coming up really soon! Does anyone know if that means Star Tours in WDW will open the same weekend?

"Star Tours: The adventure continues" (I guess it would look weird with ST2 as the title) will still open in May for WDW but it has been pushed back 2 weeks for DLR. I wonder if it has to do with getting people for the opening ceremony?

Or maybe they want to combine the two openings together so they don't have to have two parties with the famous peoples?

I agree it may have to do with someone famous (GL perhaps?), but there's only going to be one big party with celebrities - DLR. I don't see them doing it with DHS at WDW. They'll have people there, just minor cast members.

Disneyland also announced that one week earlier, the new Mickey's Soundsational Parade will make it's long awaited debut on May 27th, the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend.

The opening for DHS is tied to the start of the star wars weekend event, so they would be more likely to have the famous people.

It's possible they might have famous people at both events but so far there's no word. I'll probably find out through pictures anyway.

But if you ever look at the "celebrities" that they get for Star Wars Weekend is never any of the BIG stars from the films, just the cast for secondary characters.
