The Universe of Energy provides a nice, long break from the heat, but the AC is a bit much. The change from extreme heat to shivering cold is too much for me.

It can be a pretty stark difference IMO, but the worst thing for me is when it's raining. Ok Ok maybe we should be wearing ponchos butttttttt come on :) living in Florida and the weather me and my friends will always walk in the rain and get soaked. Just make sure to wear flip flops on those days lol nothing worse then wet shoes and socks. But then going into the stores or rides it is like walking into the Arctic, but that is our faults :-P

But it does make sense with doors constantly being opened the AC runs constantly and never shutting down I believe.

When your mother says "Close the door we're not cooling the neighborhood" lol Disney is doing that

But AC power cost and water costs I would love to see hard numbers, but I know Progress must be giving them a break on using so much lol

The last trip I took to WDW it rained the entire week we were there. So I just wore sandals and swim trunks around the parks. My parents didn't want to go, so my sis and I got bored and decided it'd be fun to go on splash mountain while it was drizzling. Actually, Haunted Mansion on a rainy day is really creepy.

ITA. We once went on a rainy evening and it really added to the atmosphere.

I agree with you MansionButler! The swing from super hot to super cold is so refreshing. It just makes you feel good all over!!! :ccat:

I know at some of the resorts on property they won't circulate the air in the rooms if you're not in there. I believe every time the door opens in your room (at least according to maintenance at Coronodo Springs - I called) the a/c in your room shuts off because the room assumes you are out for the day in the park. At least masterj you would have that going for you if your too cold you can always go back to your room to warm up. :ccat:

I feel the same way about ToT ~ it is creepier in the library with the storm happening inside and outside  :hm_ghost:

Not long after ToT opened, my Dad and I went to ride it for our first time ever. We had eaten supper at the ABC Commissary and the rest of my family decided to wait there because they didn't want to ride it and it was pouring down rain. So my Dad and I ran up to the front to get to ToT in the dark with it pouring down rain, thundering, and lightening. When we got in there, I wasn't sure if the effects in the library were real or staged. It was definitely one of my best experiences at Disney because it was so much spookier that way for my first time.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

I second that, too - and, of course, if it the constant change between warm and cold air affects you, stay inside as much as possible. Or buy one of those handheld water-misting fans :donald:

Walt Disney World produces their own electricity. So, it only costs them the amount of producing it.

Did anyone else just picture Cinderella's Fairy Godmother waving her magic wand around to do that? :D
