It probably will take off but it remains to be seen if it fizzles out like Silly Bandz did after just a few months...

I suppose Duffy could be some sort of global friendship symbol...like the Olympic characters. So perhaps if Duffy is contained within the WS, then maybe....again, I just don't wish to see this character shoved down our throats. That's all...

But I'm sticking to my faith in the general soundness-of-mind that is inherent with most Disney addicts, and I'm thinking that it will only be moderately accepted, and will fade away after a short time.

Oh they're still around, just not seeing them stacked up to the kids' elbows anymore

Time will tell how popular Duffy will be here in the states. Not sure why he is so big over in Japan

october 14th is his debut at epcot. from what i read, they're gonna offer different outfits to purchase for your duffy bear from each and every pavillion at epcot. this, like the pins, is just one more neverending money suck that i will not be pulled into. i buy into all their entertainment, all their toys, and the occasional singular "collectible". stuff like this is w/out boundries. you'll never stop paying into it.

like the pins m-dude, it doesn't really matter to me. i'll walk right past it. personally though, i would have rather seen some fresh new ideas in clothing from the big 4, or interesting new toys from the same 4, not just every possible exploitation of toy story (not that i haven't bought into it... the kid even has a toy story 3 suitcase for this upcoming trip). is it easier to import from japan than come up w/ new ideas for our old favorites? boy, i sure hope mickey, donald, goofy, and pluto aren't all used up.
