The second one is the better quality. It was filmed during the press conference, so you get no audience reaction interrupting the audio. The first one gets annoying with all the video cameras popping up blocking the view.elizabethswann wrote:I know I did have one saved in my Youtube collection that was ripped from the live stream. Amy, thanks for the spoiler alert...it's really hard to keep up with park updates without seeing WoC everywhere....

Spoiler alert...
I must be getting more harsh as I get older but I didn't like the World of Color show. I watched the full Media preview version and found myself wanting to fast forward it. I don't like that it doesn't have a story behind it, unlike Fantasmic. It's just like a recap of the best moments from the most successful Disney movies. Anyone else feel like this or am I being overly critical???
Now, I'm sure the video doesn't do it justice and in person it is probably the best thing Disney has ever done, but that just doesn't come across well in the video.

NaCler - that's exactly why I'm trying to avoid it. I know that I will be disappointed by the video...nothing is as good on video as in person. We're going in about a month so I am trying to ignore any judgements (good or bad) on the show...for now. Not sure I can hold out...

Actually, I liked it. Story to me is not a requirement - parades like MSEP and Spectromagic don't have them, and I love both. I think of it as a parade with water fountains. I still couldn't get the idea of the Bellagio, Las Vegas out of my mind while watching it.NaCler wrote:Spoiler alert...

From all of the clips I've seen, that's what I keep thinking too! (but with COLOR!!!)mindflipper wrote:Actually, I liked it. I'm guessing it will be totally different from what you see out in Vegas, although maybe not since I have never beenMmeLeota wrote:From all of the clips I've seen, that's what I keep thinking too! If nothing else, it is pretty fountains and lights and fire and music!

I think it will be different enough just by the fact that it's a Disney show!Amy wrote:I'm guessing it will be totally different from what you see out in Vegas, although maybe not since I have never beenMmeLeota wrote:From all of the clips I've seen, that's what I keep thinking too! It will be much better to see it in person. You really can't get a good experience from it by watching videos.

Re: Disney's World of Color Start Date
Yesterday Micechat posted pictures from the show that were 100% better than what I had seen on the video. The colors from the video were very bland and I think that may have swayed my opinion some as the World of Color didn't look that colorful. BUT, the pictures were amazing and vibrant.

Re: Disney's World of Color Start Date
Hmmmmmm, it may not be a story, but there's a pattern one could call an outline. The show could be divided into different parts based upon the "five elements": water, air/flight, earth, fire, and that which is beyond the solid world.mindflipper wrote:Actually, I liked it. I actually skimmed through those pics yesterday since I always like to see the weekly update. WOW!!! They looked amazing!!! I didn't see any of the videos, but those pictures were great!NaCler wrote:Yesterday Micechat posted pictures from the show that were 100% better than what I had seen on the video. Re: Disney's World of Color Start Date
Yes I think any amateur video taken of any Disney attractions or shows DO NOT EVER capture the real magic of seeing it in person. After finally video recording the full Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks, I was so excited to show it to people when I got home. They had never seen it in person and their reaction to the recorded show was just lackluster. That professional video out there that I’ve seen of WOC is amazing to me. It makes me want to see it ASAP! So I think home video is a good way to remember experiences and capture memories at the park, but you only get to feel a percentage of the actual magic. And of course we'd all rather be there experiencing it in person!

Re: Disney's World of Color Start Date
People keep asking me if I'm going to see it. I can't explain why, but I'm in no rush to see it. I know the crowds are going to be horrible and I don't want to deal with them. If I have to think about it I think that I have a fear of being disappointed. Disney has been letting me down a lot lately. I think Disney has been pushing Pixar way too much and hasn't been very original. From what I'm told 50% of the show is Pixar.
Pixar makes up probably 5% of what Disney has made in the past. I know I'm becoming a Captain Schnemo here but from what I've seen lately Disney has yet to "wow" me lately. I figure, if I happen to be in the parks when it's showing and it's not busy I'll stop by and check it out.

I'm a bit afraid of that too. (see comment about Bellagio fountains) However, it will be a priority for us next month since we're coming in from out of town. I think if we were local, we might have the same feeling toward it as you do. (but then again, I probably would have joined the crowd opening night just because it was my birthdaysubsonic wrote:People keep asking me if I'm going to see it. You make a great point about the whole Pixar thing. While I absolutely love the Pixar movies, I do feel that they are being pushed too much at the parks. I had no idea that roughly half of the show is Pixar! I know of Lion King, Alice, Pocahontas, Little Mermaid, Wall-E, & Finding Nemo in the show. I'm sure there's much more, but from the pictures I've seen over the course of the past year, those seem to be the scenes that stood out the most. (and perhaps I am completely off base with those examples)
