Anyone ever see the light moving past the windows of the Haunted Mansion (DL) at night? It's the murdered bride, of course... (the DL HM story is waaaay better than MK's)

I agree. I loved the old ride. I remember once when I was really little we actually got to meet dreamfinder and he had figment on his shoulder. That was back in the good old days where the characters actualyl walked around as opposed to standing at a station now. It was so cool. I still have his signature in my autograph book, which is now falling apart. As far as I know that was a rare thing. I dunno how it is now. I went to Disney back in january and didnt see him. I wonder how they would do it since now they took away dreamfinder.
Yep, I remember seeing Dreamfinder with a sort of mini-anamatroic Figmet. When I saw Dreamfinder he was holding Figmet on his arm. This was back in the early to mid 80's when EPCOT first opened. Now Epcot (vice EPCOT) has a life size Figmet to see. Looks like $#%@#$%. When will Disney learn...

everyone know that you have a two drink min in the parks right well....

 if you go to world showcase in epcot and start in O' Canada and work your way to the left around the lagoon to mexico that 2 drinks per country and if you take your mum or someone who dosn't drink with you
you will get buzzed by italy..

:!: math 11 countries x 2 drink min =22 drinks
:!: mum 11 countries x 4 drink min =44 drinks

i have only done this once and wont do it again

let me just say i had to change rooms at the contempory

 ergues everyone to drink responsably and have a driver or stay onsite.....hates drunk drivers !

In the ballroom scene, the glass used was shot (with a gun) that created a spiderweb pattern. as the glass pane was too heavy to move and also needed a crane/shut down of the attraction for several days, they decided to keep the pane in, and just create more spiderwebs to make it all look intentional.
I read someplace that the huge panes of glass were lowered in before the roof was added because of their size. That would mean to change it they would have to tear part of the roof off to change it, or hurt the visual by making it multiple panes of glass.

I heared somewhere that the women lead in the dancing as the images are flipped in the ballroom scene on the haunted mansion.

Most people know that... I go to doombuggies.com to find out what I can about the HM.

Did you know that they were going to add a hatbox ghost... the trick didn't work so they dumped it.

What was supposed to happen... It was in the attic and the ghost had it's head on his shoulder and he's holding a hatbox, then his head is supposed to disappear and go into the hatbox. That would have been a good trick if it worked. It was supposed to match with the dead bride and the pirate story.

in a way, it's true.
when they built the attraction, and made the animatronics, they did make them correct (the men leading the women). The basis of Pepper's Ghosts is a reflection, and the reflection would show things backwards (like a mirror). So, everything is technically right, yet backwards.

Yes, that's correct. The panes of glass that were used for the prototype was 8 feet high by 15 feet long. The prototype was then put directly into the attraction you see today. And it was put in before the roof was done due to the size. Plus, a pane of glass that big was very expensive even back in the 50s. imagine a pane that big in today's money

It would have been a very good ghost. Do you think with the technology we have now they could attempt to add that back in?

js3901 wrote:in wdw, there is a pathway from Tomorrowland to Mickey's Toontown that is hardly used, and has some nice views of the park. It goes behind the Tomorrowland Speedway, and follows the perimeter of the park. you can (at least you used to be able to, not sure how it is now, haven't been down in a few years) get some pretty good camera angles from the path. And, you're almost guaranteed not to run into (or be run into with) any of those double-wide strollers.
We finally tried it out last week, it's a nice diversion from the crowds. Thanks for the post - wouldn't have known about the path without reading it! :D

At Animal Kingdom, if you are to the left of the Tree of Life as you enter and near the Pizzafari, I think, there is a path on the right that takes you right up to the Tree of Life. You are actually walking a path over the one that folks are taking to get into Tough to Be a Bug. If you ask any CM were you go to see "Flik" that path is right there. You can get some really great shots of the Tree of Life on that path. In July, my hubby and I were the only two on the path in the middle of the day. It is actually on the AK Park Guide, but no one seems to notice it.
