Me, too Lori60---we try to avoid summer at all costs at WDW but when news of this broke in our household we booked a long weekend in August. We decided we would only go into the parks at night and try to avoid that horrible, horrible heat

in Florida (I grew up in Miami and I remember the summers - ick!)

One thing about Central Florida is that it can be windy during winter, but not get even a slight breeze during the summer. It's one of the things that makes that summer heat unbearable in Orlando!

Unless, of course, a hurricane or two comes through.

My mom went to Disneyland on Friday and told me that the MSEP is going to WDW for two years then it will return to Disneyland where it belongs (since I didn't like it in DCA). She heard it from one of the workers in DCA so I don't know if it's official since I haven't heard any official word but I'm hoping it's true.
My guess is that they are keeping it at WDW during the DCA construction since most of it - if not all - will be done by 2012. They will have the World of Color going on so they don't need the Electrical Parade anymore as far as I know. That could be why they're bringing it back to DLR if it's true.

The parade might still be there. Disney has it only operating for the summer as part of the nigthastic summer celebration. However, recent talks have it being in WDW for about 2 years. It should be interesting to see how this unfolds through the upcoming months.

I would love to see it stay for a year. We are going in December and it would be fun to see some changes.

It would make sense for it to be here longer as they are shipping it across the country. I doubt they would do that for just a couple of months unless they have more storage space in Florida were it can sit and wait for its future destination. I would love to see it again, but I will be too early as I'll be there in May.

It looks like I am going to be able to finally see the MSEP this summer!

I might be going in June.

We are going to welcome the Main Street Electrical Parade Home.
Because of some meds I take I have to avoid bright sunlight, so I'll "play" inside during the day and go out to celebrate the parage and fireworks in the evening.
Cannot wait! I can still remember those amazing, wonderful floats.

We have been to WDW 5 times and I am ready for a change in the parades and fireworks! It did not bother me until our last trip this December. I found that I really was not as interested as in the past. Since we are not going to be at the World until January of 2011 I guess I will miss MSEP.
Oh well, it is fun thinking that we may get a new treat in 2011. It could be they are revamping the fireworks for a new show. Exciting prospect!

It is currently uncertain what will be the case with the MK nighttime entertainment following nightastic. The talks as of recent say that MSEP could be in Florida for up to 2 years. It seems likely that Spectro might be out for a major overhaul since it has been going in it's current format for a long time even with the quick costume change in the past few years.
