When I did Universal, they held onto my DL while I was in there. DLP held onto one of my credit cards while I was in, but wouldn't charge me unless I was there more than one hour. What they did with the good captain is what I hear was the most recent policy: charge the card upfront, then give you a credit when you return. However, the charge goes to your card the same day, and it can take 2 weeks for a credit to be processed, so Disney gets to use that money inbetween as well.

Good point.

Another good reason to have at least one card with no balance.

I love that ride, but there is never a line so you can jump on and get out under the alloted time. :D

With the way the crowds have been lately, you could get Living with the Land, JII, and Gran Fiesta Tour with time to spare! In all seriousness, that credit card is a good idea and Captain Schnemo makes a great point on the credit card with no balance.

Sadly, I doubt I'd really enjoy the attractions in Epcot these days. When I had limited time in Epcot in the past, I'd hit Horizons, Figment, and El Rio.

Horizons is gone, and Figment and El Ducko would make me barf. The Land might be worth it, just to hear the new narration, but frankly I think I'd enjoy a nice meal at Japan more.

It's kind of sad to think that if I were plunked down right in the middle of Future World, there's really nothing I'm terribly interested in experiencing...

...but, that is a conversation for a different thread, I guess.

Can anyone think of anything else, particularly at the resorts?

A couple of the walks I didn't know existed have turned out to be quite pleasant, including from MGM to Epcot, from Fort Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge, and from Downtown Disney through Saratoga Springs on to Old Key West.

The little walk around Port Orleans is nice, start and finish at Riverside, then you can sit outside and watch the boats coming and going then you could always catch one to DTD if you fancy.

All Stars Music does movies in the evenings at the main pool area. I'm not sure if they do this all year round but they have always been on in February when we have been at this resort.

I've read through this post and find irony. For what we pay to stay on property at WDW and DLR, I just can't think of anything as "FREE". I had a really long rant about this, but I'll just leave it at that. ;+>

If you go to the Animal Kingdom Lodge at night, and go around the back of the pool to the savannah, you can use night vision googles to see the animals running around. It's very cool!

Fort Wilderness does this too (or used to, it's been awhile since I have stayed there). They have (had) fire pits set up so you can toast marshmallows and the characters would come around. I remember it being fun as a kid.

Thanks for the All Star Movies tip. The atmosphere can't compete with the other locations, but if the weather is nice and it's the only decent movie showing, it's a possibility.

I stayed on property a couple years ago when they offered $50/night at Pop Century. That's a good rate for pretty much any hotel, so I didn't mind giving the Evil Empire a few bucks at that point.

And most, if not all, of these things can be experienced staying off-site, so it's not entirely necessary to feed the beast.

Of course, if you stay too long, you'll inevitably need to refuel, at which point you'll be buying the same $3 Cokes as everyone else and Disney still wins.

It's at Music not Movies they don't show anything at Movies as far as I know.

That's kind of ironic, isn't it!
