Yup, it sounds like Bob Iger let the news slip during a shareholders meeting. They sort of indicated it wasn't intentional but I don't know if that is true or not. In any case, it will be interesting to see what they come up with for a new name.

Hopefully not something with "Adventure" in the title.

I'd rather it be "Adventure" something than "Disney's Frozen Park" though.ImagineerWannabe wrote:Hopefully not something with "Adventure" in the title.
I read someone on Facebook speculate that the new name could include Pixar (something along the lines of Disney-Pixar Studios). It seems like a reasonable guess to me.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

Or something with Marvel or Star Wars?

I wouldn't be surprised with Marvel either. With Star Wars, I think it would seem odd to name a whole park after one movie. But I wouldn't be completely surprised if they went that route either.

One movie? Pretty sure there are 6 out plus another three(?) in production plus a spinoff, multiple tv series, games, comics, books and enough licensed merch to fill a park.

Poor wording choice. I know it's much more than one movie. I just meant that the other parks have such a broad focus that a lot of things fit in. If it was just Star Wars, how would they tie in ToT, RnRC, and TSMM (which presumably won't be going anywhere)?

That is what I thought when I read your first comment.Polynesian Princess wrote:Poor wording choice. I know it's much more than one movie. I didn't know there were that many new movies in the works, plus all that other stuff ~ wow, as a shareholder, I hope they all do super well!Wizzard419 wrote:One movie? Re: DHS to be renamed again?!
They can reskin attractions, worked for Harry Potter, or just ditch it if they have something really good planned (which should have happened to most of the DHS attractions about 10 years ago). For ToT, the disconnect is so high that Disney is paying out royalties to franchises that guests are generally unaware or tangentially aware of. The last time the Twilight Zone franchise was active (not counting re-releases) appears to have been in 2003 with a reboot that was cancelled after one season.
It would probably have been smarter to go with a unique story for the DCA/DS ones they built last decade.

You can bet the family farm on "Disney's Hollywood Adventure".
The park is still overwhelmingly themed to Hollywood and movies...so "Hollywood" has to remain in the name. They will be adding more attractions and such...thus "Adventure' is the best way to draw guests in.

Re: DHS to be renamed again?!
I have also heard this! It'll be hard to not still shorthand the park as "The Studios." I am not in love with it, but I can't think of anything too much better. Maybe "The Walt Disney Studios Adventure?" Bit of a mouthful.theBIGyowski wrote:You can bet the family farm on "Disney's Hollywood Adventure".
Considering the predicted emphasis on Lucasfilm and Pixar, it's particularly odd since they're both famously based out of The Bay Area as opposed to Hollywood. That's probably inside baseball for the average park-goer...
