When does Disney start to setup their Christmas Decorations? We're going in November and hoped they would have them up.

Thanks! :mickey3:

Normally right after Halloween. When Halloween is on a weekend, as it is this year, I've seen them set up as early as the following weekend. However, they tend to take a week or more to get all the decorations up. For instance, you might start seeing garland and possibly some lights right away but the Christmas trees in MK and EC, plus the Osborne lights, won't likely be finished until the middle of November.

When are you going?

Everything should be up and fully decorated by then Goofyfan ~ you will love it! Our personal favorite is the Osborne lights...such a spectacular display. You can see the photos, but it really must be seen in person to fully appreciate how big the display is! :D

Most everything will be changed over the first week of November. I've been there on Haloween for the last MNSSHP and then show up 7 days later for the first MVMCP and the transformation is amazing. Doing it again this year.

Word on the street is that there may not be garland at Magic Kingdom anymore during the Christmas season. This is due to the height of many of the new Festival of Fantasy floats. Again it's a rumor, but considering the height of the steampunk dragon float alone, I'd say that the garland is a goner. :-\

Interesting... wouldn't the parade not run during the holidays because the holiday parade would be running?

The holiday parade only runs during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party". Festival of Fantasy still runs in the afternoons. I was there last Christmastime and that is how it worked with Celebrate a Dream Come True as well.

Interesting, yeah, DLR only runs a seasonal parade during the holidays, I think.

I am sure they'll still wrap lampposts and stuff like that.

That makes me wonder, since the garlands look nice on camera, will they string them for the filming of the parade and then pull them down (if the rumor is true) when the park goes back to normal operation during the holidays?

This is what I was thinking as well...they'll make sure Main Street looks "Christmas-y" for the Christmas Day Parade show. If that means they don't run the Festival of Fantasy parade for a day or two...it's worth it.

The funny thing would be that at DLR, we actually didn't have ours put up until after the filming because the camera wanted to do shots through it. :D
