Help me choose a resort

Post by MouseMan » Aug Fri 05, 2005 2:22 pm

We are going in February 06 next. This time we will have six in our party so I want to stay at the Fort Wilderness Cabins which sleeps six, but my wife wants to save about $110 and get 2 rooms at the All-Star. What should we do?

Neither! Stay at Pop Century its the newest edition to the wdw resorts, same price as All-stars. :)

if you are gonna go for 2 star I agree with Disneynut do the Pop Century those giant bowling pins can't be beat but if you are gonna want to spend more money i would chose the contempory or the polynesian by the time of your visit you will have a 1-10 chance of getting a newly referbed room :P

Yes, Poly & Grand are great resorts but the rates are $200-250 more per night then Pop Century or All stars during value season. If your plan to spend alot of time at the parks instead of the resort then stay at one of the value resorts, thats your best bet. :)

I'd say Pop Century. Everything I've heard from there is top notch. Plus, how do you plan to spend your trip? In the parks/other activites (like DTD, water parks, etc) or in your room(s). go Value...

I'm going against the grain -- I've never stayed at FW or AS, but I'm not a fan of the small rooms - yeah, you'll get two of each but I would personally prefer nicer accomodations - really up to you in terms of what you're willing to trade off.

Good luck!

I'd have to agree with Disneynut. We've stayed at Allstars and Pop both within the last 9 months and POP Century is definately the one to go for!

Good luck with your decision.

I definately think it would be worth YOUR money!! So if you are willing to send me the difference in price then I would be happy to stay at any deluxe resort you choose.

hey wdw1090, do you realize what the difference between a room at a value resort and a room at the GF or Poly is? You're literally talking hundreds of dollars per night!

I would consider renting points from a DVC member and staying in a 2-bedroom villa that would include a kitchen and a washer and dryer. I am a member but don't have extra points to rent right now, but I sure would check into it. The extra space is wonderful.
