Has anyone stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins? Would they be comfortable for a party of 4 adults and 2 kids? We were thinking of trying them out instead of two rooms at another resort.

Well, my friends and I stayed at a cabin for a long weekend once. I don't know what size it was or whatnot but I will tell you what I know. The cabin we got was very cozy and very gorgeous. The cabin we had there was one big bed in the bedroom and a bunk bed. Then there was a pull down bed in the living room that you pulled down from the wall. Plus there was a couch that was also very soft.

My wife and I slept in the bottom bunk, a male friend slept on top bunk. Two girls slept in the bed in the bedroom, another couple slept in pull down bed, and another male slept on the couch. And there were no complaints. Granted we broke Disney rules by having this many people I'm sure but we all had a great time.

We went grocery shopping and stocked our fridge and shelves, and barbequed with the grill provided outside our cabin every night.

I don't know if it helped you decide, but I hope it at least gave you a lot of info. We'd do it again if we could afford it.

The best family feature is the space surrounding the cabin. You really are seperated from other vacationers. Family friendly!

Never have tried them, but I do believe they sleep 6 comfortably. Proably a more cost effective option than, say, two Deluxe rooms (if that is a concern). Please report back how you liked them!

They are basically trailers. The door is right at the kitchen and as you enter the living room/ extra beds are to the left. If you continue through the living room you get to the back bedroom. The bedroom has either one queen and a set of bunk beds or two queens. It was nice to stay there back in 95, I think it was 95 it could have been in 93. The only thing I had against them was that you couldn't have a camp fire outside.

The main advantage to them is the kitchen. You can have breakfast for pretty cheap and you can make diner or a late snack that is warm for those cool nights. But I still love cooking hotdogs and burgers on the fire, and popping popcorn too.
