2014 WDW Marathon Weekend
I didn't see a topic for this yet and with it being only about a month away...I figured I would get it rolling.
...or maybe I just need a place to talk about my jitters for attempting Dopey.
Just like last year, we are training hard, but somedays it just seems so crazy!
This past weekend on our 20 mile training run, I yelled out, (at about mile 18 or so) "This is stupid! The human body just wasn't meant to run 26 miles!!"
I guess I better suck it up and keep training...
Anyone else confirmed?
I know NaCler is doing the 10K and the Half.
cccmouse? Are you back in for the full? I don't recall...
Let's do this!!!

Re: 2014 WDW Marathon Weekend
I won't be running...but DW and I will be there in WDW 1/15-1/18...so if anyone is sticking around the parks after the race weekend let us know.
DW and I are signed up for our local Half in February...in hopes that it will get us back in shape before trying to give DS a little brother or sister.

Good luck to everyone running, but make sure you enjoy the route. Definitely not a PR course.

I would agree. The Disney runs would be about the scenery for me! Of course I would be too busy taking pictures and would never finishGeoffS wrote:Good luck to everyone running, but make sure you enjoy the route. Definitely not a PR course.

Same here! That's why I feel that doing a Disney long distance run would be the only one I could ever attempt b/c the scenery would take my mind off of things! Some day I'll do it!!!Amy wrote:I would agree. The Disney runs would be about the scenery for me! GoPro. Mount that sucker, slow down for any interesting photo ops, then pull the image while editing later.Amy wrote:I would agree. The Disney runs would be about the scenery for me! Re: 2014 WDW Marathon Weekend
I'm definitely excited and a little scared. I'm nowhere close to being where I should be but I'm going to do it with friends and family beside me, so I know I'll be fine.
I'm coming in Thursday afternoon and staying until the Dopeys cross the line Sunday. I'm staying at the Caribbean Beach and would love to meet up with any Subbers that may be around that weekend.

Your ready Nacler Just take the 10k at a steady jog and leave enough in the tank for the half the next day.NaCler wrote:I'm definitely excited and a little scared. I'm nowhere close to being where I should be but I'm going to do it with friends and family beside me, so I know I'll be fine.

Re: 2014 WDW Marathon Weekend
Would love to be with you guys again this year. I had a blast doing the full back in January, but the wife says we can't spend a week in Disney every January. Something about it costing too much. So I will be running with a friend in the Houston Marathon that day. I'll be thinking of you guys and rocking to the Subsonic app on my phone while plodding along to a race that doesn't have nearly as many cool sites.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.
