Bad day at the office, Wizz?

touché. I like that quote. And you are right - no one wants brutal honesty on vacation. Why would anyone pay for that? We are trying to escape reality in Disney World.GeoffS wrote:Bad day at the office, Wizz?

Actually it has been a good day, but the world showcase tries to promote itself as a way to expose you to new cultures and people when in reality it is just like a tourist trap but with more humidity.

Okay, but the hook would be the good things first, no? No argument on the 'tourist' part of the tourist trap. That's their clientele. And after a summer in the Red Sea and cruising the Western Pacific Ocean, I'd say they nailed humidity + foreign locals just about right.Wizzard419 wrote:Actually it has been a good day, but the world showcase tries to promote itself as a way to expose you to new cultures and people when in reality it is just like a tourist trap but with more humidity.

Tangled's little bit can be found next to IASW in WDW's MK.cy1229 wrote:Yep. But they're not putting Tangled in, they're putting references to Frozen in.MW1218 wrote:Tangled is a massive hit for the Walt Disney Studios.cy1229 wrote: Not surprised. Just disappointed that they're taking out something that truly reflects Norway (or any other country under any other similar circumstances, for that matter) and dumping in a "story" of how the movie came to be. It will be irrelevant in a year, as has been most of the new "princess" movies that Disney has made in the last few years. Key exception is "Brave," which is a Pixar movie, not just a Disney movie.

Yes, hook with the good things, but what is presented in the pavilions isn't that good though. Film attractions that are so old that they border on the offensive for some countries since it shows them as "folksy" or "backwards" rather than being a modern superpower. So they fail on two counts I suppose, not putting the best foot forward with the attractions, and not even remotely providing an accurate picture. It would be akin to the hotels in Vegas saying they provide a realistic experience of Paris, Italy, NYC, and ancient Egypt.GeoffS wrote:Okay, but the hook would be the good things first, no? I've never been to Vegas, but the things in Paris, Italy and Egypt look just like the pictures in booksWizzard419 wrote:Yes, hook with the good things, but what is presented in the pavilions isn't that good though. The Norway movie could use an update. Maybe they can have some guys singing about what foxes say.

I am 90% certain that you are wrong as you haven't heard Chinese food, Saturday, or that song where the guy is a puppet and drugging a teenage girl.

Progress isn't always the best thing. Nothing wrong with "folksy" or sticking to your roots. I find "trendy", and "modern superpower" nauseating actually.Wizzard419 wrote:Yes, hook with the good things, but what is presented in the pavilions isn't that good though. Re: Changes coming to Norway Pavillion
The only thing different about Norway on our past trip was the princess from Frozen. The movie after the ride has not changed, at least not yet anyway.
