In September and October, Disney will be testing a new bus route that goes from Downtown Disney to Animal Kingdom as well as the other way around. The bus will run from 3pm to 1am.

well that is stupid of them. 'come on guys lets park at DTD, and not pay parking fees to get to a park!'

Well the service starts at 3pm which kind of deters people from using it. During October and November, AK is only open till 5pm on most days. It almost seems like Disney may use it for extra parking at DD for the construction. The issue is that AK is so far away from DD that it kind of doesn't make sense in that case. I like the idea when there are extended hours for AK where you can spend a morning at DD and then head to AK for the afternoon once the crowd size at AK starts decreasing.

This does seem like a strange location if the intent is overflow for DTD. Why not cordon off a back corner of the Epcot east lot instead?

Seems to me this is designed to get people leaving AK after lunch to go to DTD rather than wherever else they're going. If they leave AK at 3 or 4, they have plenty of time to shop and eat dinner at DTD. The 1 am ending time allows them to go back to their cars before they go ... wherever. I wonder if this is targeting people who stay off-site, to keep them on property longer.

That argument makes a lot of sense. Not sure about the whole starting to think like Wizz though ~ that's a bit disturbing

regardless of what they are planning to do, once you leave DTD for AK, you hop a bus to another park... and voila! no parking fees. and for the record it was always more relaxing to take the cruise to POR, and then take a bus to the parks from that lot...
