I totally agree that the gentlemen's voice was more interesting. He made me feel like he experienced the times himself and then came back to let us know what happened.

Jeremy Irons was my favourite!

I forgot about Cronkite! I like Jeremy Irons best, his wrap up in the star tunnel always made me think about technology and the future -- the ensuing chaos, the result of all the babble. I have been told that I should read the book "Future Shock" which addressed all the information "noise" which was going to overwhelm us.

I'm not sure I would use the word hate, but Walter Cronkite's narration is the best. They also should modify some of the scenes. After all these years I'm
tired of seeing the News Boy hawking papers yelling Extra! Extra!

Many years ago the newsboy was facing forward.... anybody know when they changed it and why? I know he has been facing away for quite some time.
I have the Jeremy Iron version of Spaceship Earth on my iPod. A couple times I have put it on with earphones and rode the ride that way! It works pretty good! I recommend trying it!

I always assumed it was broken animatronics that they decided not to repair, a la the Disco Yeti. Anybody else? And while we're at it, didn't there used to be some sort of projection animation on the first Rome scene, about "all roads lead to Rome," where there was like horse-drawn carts going down the roads in the backdrop? Pretty sure that was cut out some time ago, too.

This is brilliant. Jeremy Irons' version is my fave.

I definitely remember the chariots racing down the streets of Rome projection ~ not sure when that disappeared

That went away in the last renovation, at the same time they switched to Judi Dench. The animated horse was neat to see, but completely unrealistic. I personally like the new scene a lot better.

"Extra Extra New York Daily!" I think that's what the newsboy is saying. Anyway, I like his little voice. It's sweet. That is, if they used a real kid. If it's some adult woman trying to sound like a little boy, then it's immediately annoying. Ha ha!

It sounds like a real kid to me. Maybe an Imagineer's son?

My understanding on the newsboy is that's it's about perspective. He's supposed to be yelling down the street/alley in front of him.

Jeremy Irons is still my favorite. Judy is my least favorite of all and it didn't help her cause to change the ride dialog in some of the key scenes.

lets face it....Jeremy could read the phone book (if there are any of those still around..) and make it sound interesting.
