Cold place in Epcot?
So the hubby and I were talking last night and he said he saw someone mention on a blog or FB page somewhere that Epcot used to have a "cold place" but it was shut down due to snowball fights. He was dead serious, it wasn't one of his leg-pulling schemes.
Anyone know anything? I told him I'd ask.

It used to be called Ice Station Cool and changed in 2005, not sure if the snowball throwing stopped after that change. Probably a good idea since hitting the wrong person could lead to an assault charge.

an assault charge? that would be very very extreme.

The threshold for assault is very low, which is good and bad. Plus side, it keeps some behavior in check, the down side is that it also makes it easier to press charges and eventually sue.

That would confuse the asker to the point that it would probably result in free drinks for the one who was charged.

I don't remember it very well, but back in the day there was snow there. They also used to have the large snow machine parked outside it as well.boilerbabe wrote:I don't ever remember Club Cool having snowballs, that would've neat!

Well, there is a difference between having snowballs and a worker taking snow/frost/whatever they want and throwing it.

I never knew there was actual snow either.
Here is a site that has pictures of the original Ice Station Cool...didn't see anything about snow there...maybe it was before that too.

Re: Cold place in Epcot?
no pun intended but it really was cool. I do however remember one day, when a big chunk of ice fell right onto my head and I was bleeding. It really hurt. The CM freaked right away but when he found out that I was a CM as well, he didn't seem to care so much. I was laughing as well until I realized I was bleeding under my hat once I was trying the sodas.
