No More EMH in Summer for Water Parks
Extra Magic Hours at both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have been discontinued for this summer.
During July and August the water parks have typically opened at 8am for Extra Magic Hours a couple of times per week. They were originally scheduled for this year, but have since been removed from the schedule.
The Extra Magic Hours appear to being scaled back across all areas of the resort. Disney's Animal Kingdom's evening EMH was removed back in February 2011, and evening EMH at all parks was reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours back in January 2013.
There are rumors that EMH will eventually be gone from the water parks as well as the 4 theme parks. If you take a look at the EMH calendars from the past couple of years, Disney has been scaling them back. I would like to see EMH stay though.

Re: No More EMH in Summer for Water Parks
I can't imagine many guests take advantage of EMH at the water parks ~ later hours I could see, but it doesn't seem like people would be that eager to get to a water park at 8 am!
I hope EMH stay around as well. I'm sure it is an additional expense with having to have CMs work longer hours, but it really is a nice perk of staying on property

I agree. EMH is one of the reasons that I stay on property. I know that some "experts" say to avoid parks with EMH, but I have always found that I get more done during morning EMH than I do at other parks without EMH.Amy wrote:I'm sure it is an additional expense with having to have CMs work longer hours, but it really is a nice perk of staying on property

We always avoid Early Magic Hours and do not go to that park during the day, I always thought it was busier. However we take advantage of Evening Magic Hours usually by going back to Magic Kingdom late after being at HS or AK during the day.

We hit both the morning and evening EMH! The lines are seem shorter and the parks are a little less crowded during EMH in our experience. EMH are pretty much the only way we were able to ride on Dumbo...I suppose it doesn't matter as much now with the new play area and buzzer system.cousininmiami wrote:We always avoid Early Magic Hours and do not go to that park during the day, I always thought it was busier. I enjoy extra magic hours, but I have to say, I find the nighttime hours and Epcot to be an absolute nightmare. In my experience, everyone basically gets in two lines: Test Track and Soarin. I've had to wait much longer during EMH than I have had to during the day. It is nice to just walk around Epcot at night though.

We are generally in the World Showcase during EMH at EPCOT so we don't find too many lines. It is really a pretty park at night though ~ a little bit cooler and all lit up and pretty!junebug1233 wrote:I enjoy extra magic hours, but I have to say, I find the nighttime hours and Epcot to be an absolute nightmare.
