I think it was only a few years ago, but isn't august still part of their busy season? Something must be getting worked on that can't wait.

I was thinking the same thing as you Goofyfan ~ but Wizz is correct, it has been reopened for almost two years now. It is odd that it will be closed for a whole month so soon though.

The only thing that would warrant a complaint about a refurbishment happening is if it opens with still-broken show elements (or in Kali's case, reopens with an even greater amount of broken show elements than it had before it was closed). I think WDW needs to have these sort of refurbs all year round, for all the attractions. Does it suck when you have a vacation planned and your favorite attraction is down for refurb? A little. Is this a better option than letting attractions rot away? Most certainly. Most likely part of the refurbishment will be FastPass+

I doubt they would be adding FP+ in for the tiki room when you consider it doesn't have a line to begin with...

There's Fastpass+ for Muppets 3D, American Idol, Journey into Imagination, Small World, It's Tough to be a Bug, and many more attractions that usually have no to short waits. I wouldn't be surprised if Tiki Room gets it as well

Yeah, but those rides have queue lines or, in the case of AIE, set show times. Tiki Room has neither. Fastpass would make no sense for it other than to actually make the wait to see it longer than just walking in.

I'd wager it's probably just general maintenance that it's closing for given the relatively short time it's actually closed. Perhaps it's simply time for the birds to have their bi-annual bath ;)

The WDW muppets has a line that is actually used? The one at DCA is part of the club of rides that have a line built but never had to use it.

Is that near where Superstar Limo used to be?

I've seen it used, yes. DCA I can't speak for since I've never been there.

Correct, SSL became the monster's inc ride (same track/ride system but the scenes were mostly replaced), which has slightly better attendance than SSL did.

The muppets queue was actually partially removed to add more dining area since it was not needed and as it is mostly avoided the movie is replaced with previews for other 3D movies as well as a holiday show during the holiday season.

if it was a basic refurb they wouldn't need a month. FP of any kind would be a waste of resources with Tiki.

I never understood the FP's for rides like this.....

When I see the FP booth outside of Philharmagic, I think WHY?!!? Is it mainly for ridiculously busy days? Or just for newbies who don't know any better?

Both.
