When I was a kid, I liked sitting in the front row! But I agree that sitting in the last row is the best, being near the Tiki Totems, the storm and just seeing the entire show is better from the back! I am happy they have changed back to it's original glory, but we are still missing the water fountain that came up from the middle to bring the birds down, does anyone else remember this?

Here is a picture from my Instamatic camera on our family trip in 1972... obviously I liked the front row then!

Wow great pic!! I do not remember the fountain. I wonder when they quit that?
I love all of your old pics of wdw. It inspired me to ask my Dad where the heck my pics are from our first trip. So far no luck.

Probably about the same time they put an animatronic she-devil in the middle.
Hoping to go back to the Magic soon.

This is how I remember the original...I wonder why they left out the fountain. It was such a great addition to the show :?

I concur. Sitting in the back rows near the windows is best for the storm. That part of the show was always my favorite since I was a kid. That, and the singing totem poles.

I was glad to see the Tiki Room back to the original version in March of this year. The last time I was at WDW was in 2000 and it had the New Management version.

The only shame would have been in not ever going and then declaring that it wasn't a good attraction. :)

I was glad it was back to the old version as well. On our last trip in 2011 they had just reopened it after the fire, I had heard it was back to the original version and wanted to see it . My family was not hip on it at first because we really didn't enjoy the newer version at all . After we saw the old though we all agreed it was a great change!! :D

I thought I would really miss Zazu and friend but actually now that I know it's back to Walt's version, I actually kind of like it.

I'm sure I'm in the minority in saying I really didn't mind the new version, I'll even go as far to say I enjoyed it. But I truly love the original and am so happy that it's back. I have to see it at least once every visit.

I like the "new old " show too! Iago and Zazoo were too much!

Zazu was kind of annoying IMO. I love the original Tiki Room. And I do remember the fountain and swaying flags on the walls. :D :goofy:
