From what I've heard, the parade at the studios and Disney Channel Rocks will both end next month. No word on a replacement parade.

Good. Now the next step is to get rid of and swap out ALL MK parades, MSEP first on the list.

The Disney Channel Rocks thing drives me nuts.

Interesting article on WDWNT about this as a sign of big construction to come to DHS. Yes, it's all rumors, but a fun read nonetheless.

Sometimes there are some nuggets of fact in those rumors :D

My experience has been that rumors usually start with a kernel of truth. Not always, but often.

and that kernel of 'truth' is being relayed by a Mears driver?

That does seem interesting that they would abruptly end all parades and performances in a month or so. I do think that Countdown to Cones was really a sad excuse of a parade and will be no loss. I actually do miss the former BPB as it was a way of getting people involved and the people working that really put on a great show stop in 90 degree heat. I can go further back into naming great parades like Stars and Motor Cars, but that's a horse I've already beaten and buried.

With no news on replacements to come then one would really start to think this is all about making space backstage for some shuffling of things usually related to construction.

Soarin: I couldn't agree more with you. There was rumor around a year ago that all the Spectro floats were sitting in a warehouse backstage getting worked on. However once again that was just a rumor. It would be nice to see that parade come back again.

I know someone who works in Central Shops and the floats that are beyond repair are back there being rebuilt, supposedly. There are some of the floats in the parade warehouse behind Splash as well. It was so nice to see them again.

Countdown to Cones is an apt description of that parade  The music was sort of catchy though, and I liked taking pictures of some of the more unusual characters that came out with that parade.
I would love to see Spectro return ~ I love that parade's music :D

Hmmm, that sounds sort of promising. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Haven't seen DCR in person, but have seen video...all I have to say is I would avoid that area during a show if at all possible

I got caught up in it one day exiting an attraction. It was brutal as the crowds were massive and of course no one was moving :(

I am quite happy about it... I am not a parade person at all (with the exception of the Electrical Light Parade) :D
The daytime parades are usually loud and annoying  with way too many strollers! Even when my children were small, I didn't like them. I always felt it was a great time to catch rides or attractions that might be less busy.

I hear ya cousininmiami...my parade days are pretty much over. I feel if you have seen one MK daytime parade, you've pretty much seen them all . As for the shows, kind of the same as the parades for the most part, with the exception of the live bird show at AK. Unless I happen to be with people who haven't seen some of these parades/shows, and it's something they are interested in, like you, I head straight for the attractions to take advantage of the lighter crowds :D
