A few people mentioned that Jiminy hasn't been at Animal Kingdom now for a few months. It does seem as though some of the characters aren't that long lost though....

Even if he hasn't been there for a few months, that still isn't worthy of a big TA DA!!! moment. lol I really wish this limited time magic was going better. =(

Yup, so far, it is an underwhelming extra

I'd rather have Kronk, Oswald, Launchpad and Gadget but I'm glad I don't have to pay extra to see Scrooge.

I'm sure there are a few more "Disney Afternoon" characters from the early 90s that are stored in a warehouse somewhere. They were all over Mickey's Starland back in the day. A lot of us who are having our first kids are the generation that grew up watching those afternoon cartoons...great time to draw on the nostalgia.

Never watched it, but I know who he is. I would think people would line up for a picture with him

The true "long lost" characters are those from the live-action movies made by Disney in the late 1960s and 1970s. Escape to Witch Mountain, That Darn Cat, and the like. (Those are Disney, right?) And Swiss Family Robinson - how cool to have THOSE characters hanging around the treehouse?!

Did they do M&Gs for live action movies back then?

Only time I've seen him was in 2007 during the MNSSHP with Launchpad. Those two should have been out for sure!

I really don't know. That's a good question. When we went to MK in 1980, I don't remember there being a ton of characters around, but there is a picture of my sister and me with Smee the Pirate, so there must have been at least a few.
I guess what I'm driving at is that Disney made these movies, and then when they made Aladdin, they completely turned their backs on those live action films. Granted, some of them are best not mentioned because they're that bad

but they weren't all terrible. It would be fun to revive the good ones with M&G's.

Other than Marry Poppins and Burt...have there ever been any "Live Characters" in the parks/resorts?
I'll tell you a Long Lost Friend I would love to see...Willie the Giant. I know he's in
Sir Mickey's...but it would be cool to see WDI come up with a way to have him somewhere else...maybe Fantasmic or a big show like that. Think BIG, I always say.

These are characters that no longer have a standard M&G. Keep in mind LTM events were largely chosen via guest feedback over the years and one character that HAS vanished is indeed Jiminy, mostly due to the height requirements of the character since it is such a tough costume to fit someone for.

Anyone else kinda wish that Pete and his dragon would make an appearance? Man that movie made me cry like a little baby...
