You would be surprised at how many Fast Pass + they have added to rides that never had fast passes before. I actually think it is a great thing because I feel like you just never know and it is nice to have reservations for things like that. Especially if it isn't a high priority but you always want to make sure you do it.Amy wrote:But it is a smart one for parents who want to guarantee that their children get to meet the characters...Cardinals314 wrote:The dumbest thing on the list is that the character spot is a headliner. I wonder how they handle the new FPs for rides that have been added to the system, do you just go in the exit, is there another line section built?

Re: MyMagic+
The cynic in me goes back to something one of the dudes on WDW Today podcast said: If all the fastpasses for a particular headlining attraction, such as BTMRR, are gone, and people complain, Guest Relations can point to these other attractions and say, "Yes, but there are plenty of fast passes available for these attractions." The bottom line from those guys was that you might have to give up one or more of the "big deals" because of the way fast passes are being handled, or resign yourself to waiting in longer lines to see the things you couldn't get fast passes for.Belle1082 wrote:You would be surprised at how many Fast Pass + they have added to rides that never had fast passes before. But keep in mind, I'm at a frustrating point in my work today, so I'm going to be a little more cynical than usual.

it is easy, the fastpass line is where you go--- legacy fastpass is rumored to go the way of the dodo as soon as they come all the way out of testing...Wizzard419 wrote:I wonder how they handle the new FPs for rides that have been added to the system, do you just go in the exit, is there another line section built?

Re: MyMagic+
But, weren't new attractions added to the FP+ system that were not on the legacy system?

Yes there are a lot that have been added. They basically added another line and Fast Pass + sign and you zip right through.Wizzard419 wrote:But, weren't new attractions added to the FP+ system that were not on the legacy system?

Re: MyMagic+
Other than HM, which has the holding areas, it always is kind of strange there would be a wait on those rides. I guess it is similar to how there is stopped traffic on freeways, the volume has to slowly merge together.

Re: MyMagic+
MGM (Hollywood) Studios is now doing a tiered FP+ system just like EPCOT starting next week. The group one attractions: Toy Story Mania, RnRC, Fantasmic, and Beauty and the Beast. 2nd group: GMR, ToT, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, Muppetvision 3d, Disney Jr, Voyage of the little mermaid, American Idol and LMA show.
The selection of the tier one group I think is very good. With FP+ you can now arrive for Fantasmic 10 to 15 minutes early and get a good seat. Tier 2 favorites will be ToT and GMR. Muppet Vision 3d, American Idol, and even LMA are wasteful in my opinion

My problem with having anything pre-planned is there are about 1000 ways to get sidetracked at Disney with children.

Re: MyMagic+
I was at Epcot last night for the first time since they converted to 100% NFC MyMagic+ at the entrance. They had to flag over a special cast member with a handheld scanner to swipe my cardboard "old school" ticket media. Later, I went to Guest Relations and they converted me to a plastic card with a chip. Much better.
