Most likely a stupid question and may or may not have called for the making of a new thread but I needed to ask this: Does the Mexico Pavilion in the World Showcase house anything relating to the national sport of Lucha Libre? Being a huge fan of it, the thought literally just popped into my head. If this needs to be moved or deleted for whatever reason please feel free to do so, I won't be insulted i swear.

I can't recall ever seeing anything like that, but honestly, after a few jalapeño margaritas it all gets a little hazy

Unfortunately, there are no references to Lucha Libre in the pavilion (that i am aware of, but like WWDRH said after a few trips into La Cava, you don't notice a lot around you). This could either be due to the Mexican leaders who weighed in on its creation or Disney execs that did not want any references to violence for money. Or it could just be that Disney didn't want a lot of young people wearing those masks and "play fighting" throughout the park. Not sure why, sorry.

No need to apologize. I just think they should include something like that as it's part of Mexican culture! El Santo is a national folk hero!

Until then, please enjoy the scenic boat ride with the Three Cabalaros. I know some people think that adding these guys cheapened the historic part of the Pavilion but I have to say, I really enjoy it.

You mean the Three Cabaleros aren't part of Mexican history?

I loved the old, "Rio del Tiempo" ride, but like you I really enjoy the new one too, with the "Three Cabalaros". I think it's fun

Is it just me, or does the Agent P thing in the pavilion take away from the ambience? We dined alongside the water, and the Agent P thing kept going off. It's near the ceiling on top of one of the buildings. It's surprisingly loud, and we felt it interrupted the peaceful sounds of the pavilion. Has anyone else noticed this?

because of this thread and my overall fascination with lucha libre, currently making a zine, I am now listening to authentic mariachi music...

What sort of sound does the Agent P thingie make? I'm surprised it isn't just a sound made on the little receiver the participants would carry. Is there also a visual cue, or just an auditory one?

The Agent P thingamabob lights up on a wall over the "entrance" to the main part of the marketplace. With the darkness of the interior, it's really hard not to notice. It distracts the way a television turned on in one's peripheral vision is distracting.

do you think I'd be kicked out of the park if I wore my luchador mask around?

They probably wouldn't let you in if you were wearing it, and they would very likely ask you to remove it if you put it on inside the park. I don't think you are allowed any sort of costuming as an adult.
