I'm sure there are others who have spent Christmas, Thanksgiving, or other holidays in the parks. Do you do something special on "the day"? Many years ago I spent Thanksgiving at EPCOT with my sister, and our Thanksgiving feast turned out to be chicken fingers at the American pavillion . A couple of years later, it was pretty much our whole family on Christmas day and to our surprise my Mom packed a small folding Christmas tree so we could keep Christmas morning fairly traditional in our cabin at Ft. Wilderness . She was so thoughtful

What a neat idea!

I like the folding Christmas tree idea! With the smaller, battery operated strings of light you could string some of those up around the room as well for a more festive atmosphere.
We spent Thanksgiving at WDW last year and we ate at Via Napoli Not traditional Thanksgiving day food, but I was in heaven. I really like pizza and not having to pretend to eat turkey and other dishes I don't really enjoy for a change was pretty nice F1gment ended up having a very delicious, traditional turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. meal at our resort either the day before, of, or after Thanksgiving.

I would be game for Via Napoli any day of the year . A co-worker of mine went there recently and said it was fantastic! Cannot wait to try it for myself

Our friends are still mortified that we skipped the traditional Thanksgiving So as long as you are prepared for people looking at you like you are a bit daft, go for it!

Holidays are what we each want them to be. There isn't anything scriptural about observing religious holidays, so it's pretty much what we want to do with them that's key. Thanksgiving is an attitude of the heart, not a ritual of gluttony (or, at least, it should be!). So if you want to eat pizza at Via Napoli or wherever, so be it. My family LOVES turkey and all the fixin's so I do everything I can to give that to them. But if we, as a family, decided to do something different, so be it. I'm glad, Amy, you and your mom had the chance to be at Epcot over the holiday and have YOUR kind of vacation. Traditions are nice, but they shouldn't rule over people.

I was quite thankful to be at WDW eating my favorite meal of pizza with my favorite Mom
