Anyone ever "Drink Around The World" at Epcot?

So last time I was at Epcot, I decided I would "Drink Around the World"... now, let me say a few things about this:
(1) It's not for the faint of heart, or for the recovered/recovering alcoholic
(2) Be sure you have a DD or are relying on Disney transportation to get home/back to your hotel
(3) Disney employees are usually serious about checking ID's, and not serving you if you're obviously plowed... over 21 only, and keep it together, please
(4) My particular trek cost around $75
(5) Let me reiterate this is not for everyone
Okay, that being said, the idea here is, basically, to walk from country pavillion to country pavillion in Epcot's World Showcase, and have one drink in each... something indicative of/made in that particular country. When I went, I had the following... (the entire process took me about 3-4 hours)
Mexico: a margarita
Norway: Carlsberg beer
China: Tsingtao beer
Germany: Lowenbrau beer
Italy: some white wine (a Pinot Grigio, I think)
The American Adventure: Sam Adams beer, of course!
Japan: Sake (when I asked the very nice Japanese girl behind the counter what kind of Sake it was, hoping for a brand name... she said "very strong")
Morocco: more white wine... it was actually a French style wine made in Morocco, according to the gentleman who served me
France: champagne
United Kingdom: Bass Ale (yes, of course... the half-yard!)
Canada: Moosehead beer
Needless to say this left me pleasantly schnockered, and riding Test Track later that evening was fun... but I highly recommend avoiding Mission: Space... wooooooo boy...
Anyone else ever try this?

Hehe.. funny post...
I'm too much of a lightweight when it comes to drinking... so i have never attempted it. I ususally hit the ends...and the middle. I get a beer/margarita in mexico, a Lowenbrau beer in Germany and a Bass Ale 1/2 yard. By then I got a good buzz on.

I'm not sure I'd do it again, if only because it's prohibitly expensive

Wow yeah, I've tried most of them. And those other countries can have 'em. No offense, but I don't think I like even ONE of the world drinks. Glad I am living in the good 'ol USA, where even the drinks are better. Please no offense... just joking.

Honestly, I thought most of the beer was just repackaged Budweiser. Very few beers actually had a distinct taste

Great post, my friend!
Ahhhhh... those were the days... Somewhere in these forums, I posted the story of my 21st birthday spent drinking around the world...
Anyway, about once a month or so, a group of us CMs would get together and spend our hard earned cash getting blitzed in World Showcase.
From my vast experience in this endeavor, let me offer some advice for anyone attempting to inebriate their way around epcot:
For some reason, more people would survive the entire adventure when we started in Canada and worked counter-clockwise. Maybe it was having two glasses of beer to coat our stomachs before getting to the harder stuff, rather than starting with margaritas from the get-go.
If you really want to enjoy the experience, rather than getting so p*** you can't see straight, give yourselves about six hours. That way, you'll have a steady buzz going and can grab some snacks and a sit-down meal. However, if you really want to see who will pass out last, I heard stories of people completing the trek in less than three hours. (And then getting sick behind some beautifully manicured topiary. But I won't mention any names.)
If you really think that the other beers have no taste, try a Black 'n' Tan at the Rose & Crown. Layered Guinness and Harp (or Bass, if you prefer), it definitely doesn't taste like a Bud.
Anyway, good luck and best wishes to all you brave world travelers!

It's funny you say that, because while I felt like Carlsberg, Lowenbrau, and Moosehead were "just eh"... Tsingtao is easily my very favorite beer, and was before I did this little jaunt.
kgmadorin... as is the case with inebriation, it turns out my sense of time (or memory) were both off, as I did take more like 6 hours (and actually topped everything off with dinner at Nine Dragons including two glasses of wine there)... apparently I talked to my girlfriend when I was in Mexico (she was back home here in Cali, and not my GF at the time), and then called my buddy Eric when I was in Canada... 6 hours later, when they were all hanging out at our neighborhood bar.
Ahhh, how small the world...

GREAT list...Though I probably wouldnt do it at EPCOT its self. Does sound expensive, and I get drunk easy. I would gather a collection at the local liquor store, and experience myself at home. Display digital photos I took on the TV, maybe get an online radio station playing the countries music.
I prefer to be drunk at home.

I tried it in December of 2004. My family kinda wimped out but I made it halfway and at that point we ate dinner @ Canada. I was already lit of my farking face. Once we got out of dinner though I was already "soaking" up the beer b/c I ate like a pig!!
I will try again next time.

Spaulo.... You are my new hero !!! Great post, and I have to tell ya... I never even considered something like this before... My wife loves Epcot, and now perhaps I have a reason to be excited too.... although, I could never cover what you did without going down in flames.... Just can't mix it up like that anymore.
The black and tan sounds incredible, as described by kgmadorin, that has been filed away for the next trip. In fact, I suddenly have a new outllook on the World Showcase.

I hadn't thought of this before but were going to be there July 17th through the 26th and I'm gonna try it. I don't think I'll make it though.
thanks for the idea.
Sounds like fun, maybe too much fun

I enjoy drinking, and I enjoy Epcot, but isn't this a little excessive, how does one keep from passing out after drinking so much? I guess a hearty meal is in order before such festivities.

Sorry, Rich... I didn't understand. Were you wondering if I had any funny stories about guests being drunk?
