It'll split the crowds up hopefully as Fantasyland opens that day. I'm still confused on the concept but I suppose we'll have to see it to get it.

Do you think you will be able to get a CM preview before it opens?

I still don't quite understand the concept they are going with...other than a TRON-looking thing.

I might, haven't heard yet though. They're doing our Fantasyland preview sign-ups now so perhaps after that we will.

Sounds to me like the ride itself is going to be mostly the same. Putting a test car through the paces. Sounds like the pre and post are going to be more interactive.

It's supposedly going to be more of a re-skin than anything else (they probably did not change the route at all) and the design is focused more on design where the car can have some modifications done as the ride goes on.

Test Track doesn't open until december 6, however cast previews/testing are occuring now. I had the opportunity to ride this morning. The track has remained the same and the concept is mostly the same. The difference now is that you design the car being tested. This is all known, I think. The ride is faster than it was before inside. They did away with the block testing and the environmental rooms. It has a very tron-esque feel to it, but it has nothing to do with tron. The queue is the same as the concept art shows. The car design phase is fun, it is similar to tye design phase for sum of all fears in innoventions. It uses flick-card technology to remember your car. It compares the up to six different vehicles designed after each leg of the test. In all it is a really fun change while still keeping the original ride. Its amazingly well done.

Did they get rid of the pre show area, so now it's just a non-stop line?

I did a quick search and can't seem to find the flick-card tech you are talking about, do you have a visual example of it?

Did they do anything to the cars that allow guests to "modify" the drive/handling? That was in the original concept but I am not sure if they could execute such a thing and keep it working.

The queue appears shorter than before. The pre-show is different it now explains how to design the concept vehicle.

The flick card is what they've been using to determine wait times. We are forbidden from taking pictures inside because it is in the "testing" phase.

No, tue handling of the vehicle is not affected by the design. At the end of each test there is a score board that will show how well your vehicle performs.

Also it appears that fast pass and single riders will not have the opportunity to design a vehicle.

Oh, you mean the Flik cards (the red cards they use to determine wait time)? Those are just RF chips.

I am confused. You design the car you are riding in, but there are 6 people in a car. How does that work?

Also, is there any chance it will be soft opening to guests tomorrow???

I would. FLE will be the biggest draw for the next year or two since guests have been waiting so long for it to open. TT will be more subued, crowd wise after a few months.

Maybe as they used to say in the old Horizon ride: "Each can choose; majority decides"

That's what I figured mf. But, I assume there are more than just three different cars to choose from, right? And if you choose your car while waiting in the queue, how do they know who you are riding with until you are placed in your rows? Too many questions... agingerbugg, how does it work???
