Subsonic Radio

As you guys probably know, there is now free wi-fi at all of the resorts.. AND Disney is testing a new wi-fi based Fastpass system at the MK. That means that right now the MK has FREE WI-FI in all of the park.

And according to @insidethemagic on Twitter, that will extend to ALL FOUR PARKS early next year.


I just have to hope that early next year is before mid Feb when our trip is.. if so I am gonna spend some money on some Disney apps. ..

There are disney apps that you pay for? I thought everyone got out of those, even Disney with their obscene price, and went free.

There are a lot of free ones, but I think Disney has one or two that tell you where characters are and updated ride waits and such.. I will have to do a little research to find out.

I have one called "Mobile Magic" and it tells you all the day's events, current wait times, if FP's are available, etc. It also tells you when and where the characters are scheduled. Click here: http://disneyparksmobile.com/

I just grabbed that app for my iPod Touch.. Now that there is gonna be wifi in the parks, it will be worth taking it with me.
I better get an otterbox though, in case I ride the Kali River Rapids, hahah

Yes, but it's free now. Originally when it came out (because they didn't undestand how to do it) the app itself was either free or cost a little but then required $10 for a 3 month subscription to it.

Yes, but it's free now. Originally when it came out (because they didn't undestand how to do it) the app itself was either free or cost a little but then required $10 for a 3 month subscription to it.

that sucks.. i'd be ticked if I was someone who paid the money.. I wonder if they had to give that money back??

Nah, they are under no obligation to refund all purchasers their money. Kind of like how if you buy something and a few months later it goes on sale or if you buy a copy of an online game and it goes free2play a year later. Considering that it was also only open to Verizon customers, and this was pre-iphone on their network, and that there were free aps that did the same functions, it probably didn't get huge numbers.

Ah, Verizon only. Yay for me being Sprint!


So I got the Touring Plans app as well as the Disney app.. but the problem is that I have to wait for about 6.5 months to use it in the parks. *cry*

I used Mobile Magic for the first time on our trip in April, and I really enjoyed it. I'll have to see if the wi-fi is any faster than the 3G coverage. Normally of course it would be, but the question is how slow does the wi-fi go.

This is great news, some of us in my house, can't be away from the internet too long or we have withdrawals!! lol!!
