As long as all the bears eyes aren't crossed anymore, I'll consider it a success...

Well I'm glad it's getting a refurb. I'm sorry it'll be opening on our second-to-last day, though. That means if anything delays the opening by even a day or two, we're out of luck.

This is a VERY good thing. I remember going here in April 2011 and thinking it seriously needed a refurb. Those bears were in pretty sorry shape!

Sure it's going to be a refurb...
On an unrelated side note, would anyone be interested in faux bear fur?

Ack! Can we choose to live in denial about that possibility?

I'm going to. I know it's cornier than corny but I love CBJ. Maybe it's because my parents and grandparents watched "Hee Haw" every Saturday.

It's not even going to be closed for two months. Doubt it's going anywhere.

Not really, but there will be tons of people that will miss it being open for them to not go inside.
At DLR, the years leading up to the close of our version had sparse numbers of people, esp in the off season, then when they had the closing date set (and a disneyana convetion the same weekend) the show was packed for the first time in ages.

I would definitely miss it if it was gone. But I suspect that people like me are older, rather than younger.
I wish there was a way to hook in younger people to things like COP and CBJ. A back story, perhaps, or ... I don't know what. Something to give an appreciation of the history.

They made a movie based on the CBJ didn't they? I didn't see it...
I expect you're right cy1229, older folks and the youngin's are the ones who probably like the Country Bear Jamboree the best. The older ones for nostalgic reasons and the youngin's for the pure pleasure of corny jokes and fun music.

Disney even notes that shows and rides of the past do not work as well now since the audience wants a less passive experience.
