Has anyone booked a special dining event? My parents will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this year, and we are heading to Walt Disney World. I'm thinking Narcoossee's for dinner - will they (or any of the other restaurants) do anything special? We took them to Hawaii for their 50th, and the restaurant added their names to the menu for the day, etc. If you have experience, or suggestions as to what to ask for (or who to talk to) that would be GREAT.

I'm pretty sure that if you tell them when you make the reservations ahead of time, they can do something special for your parent's anniversary. You might want to double check with them for sure what exactly they will do.

I took my wife to Citrico's at the Grand Floridian, for our 1 year anniversary. When I made the reservations I let them know of the celebration and they had our names and "Happy Anniversary" printed on the top of our menus and we were able to take the menus home with us. I also arranged with the Disney Florist for a long stem rose and silver bracelet to be delivered to our table during dinner. The Rose was on the table waiting for us and the waiter brought the bracelet with our appetizer.
Also I had typed up a "love letter" for my wife, that I slipped to the hostess and that was brought to my wife with the appetizer as well.
Disney is a great place to celebrate anything and the Disney Castmembers are always helpful in making dreams come true!

We can do whatever you want at Victoria and Albert's... for $135 per plate, that is! An anniversary is considered "loafable" so you get a special dessert to take home and then the menus are personalised however you want, ie. Happy 60th Anniversary and whatnot.

Pretty sure at any table service restaurant you make reservations at - you can tell them the special occasion and they will do it up to only Disney standards. I've never run into any problems with special requests and Disney will do everything they can to add a special extra touch for your occasion. It's the Disney way!

"Loafable" is what we use to refer to an event or occasion upon which the person(s) celebrating get a special loaf of the orange date nut bread to take home with them to enjoy later on. These are given out as extra little surprises for birthdays, engagements, honeymoons, and anniversaries. And are quite tasty.

Thanks, folks! I'll see what I can do once I can make reservations! If any other special visit ideas come to mind, let me know! My folks have been there many, many times (They live on the west coast of Florida) but often do the same things again and again. (Took them to a Mickey's Very Merry for the first time last year, for instance - they'd never gone before).

That bread sounds amazingly delicious. I could almost taste it.

A follow-up...we had a great visit with the Folks...their 60th wedding anniversary was MAGICAL...

First Night at Narcoossee's - they had specially printed menus for my parents, they got words of happiness from everyone in the restaurant, great all around.

Second night at California Grill - dessert was a surprise piece of cake with large piece of chocolate crammed into it, with Happy Anniversary etc. written on it (okay, crammed really isn't the word, but "thrust" or "stuck" into the top of the piece of choc cake).

Nicely done - and I'll be back for my 50th bday this summer, so we'll see what happens!

Sounds like two really nice celebratory dinners. I like the image of the chocolate "crammed" into the cake though

Hey - as long as it is chocolate, I don't care if it is crammed, wedged, spindled, folded or whatever! I'm just happy that we were all really full, so my parents were willing to split the cake four ways. Boy, was it rich and wonderful! We went out on the roof deck, but it was really windy, and pretty cold (Dec 29 in Florida).
