Worth two dining credits?

Post by cy1229 » Apr Sun 15, 2012 7:01 pm

Would you say the Brown Derby is worth two dining credits for dinner? We're kind of in a debate and Tuesday is when we need to make our ADR's.

Thanks!

Yes, Cy, definitely yes! It's my very favourite park restaurant at WDW. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great, like a visit to another world far away from all the busy-ness of the park outside. I absolutely love going to Brown Derby. Last trip, we had to skip it, and I was so sad. It's at the top of our list for next trip. :ccat:

Was that positive enough for you?

YES!!!!! Try the duck. It was better than I thought it would be and I wasn't even expecting to see duck on the menu.

Duck shows up a surprising amount at the resort, considering hot hot and humid it gets during the summer.

Love the duck 3 ways! We also love the Banana White Chocolate Tower for dessert.

I personally have not eaten there in years. The last time I ate there we were very dissatisfied with the food. The only perk it had was the Fantasmic package.

Well, the verdict is in, and it's no Brown Derby this time around. We're going to eat at 'Ohana, Boma, Mama Melrose, Tepan Edo, San Angel Inn, and Chef Mickey's for breakfast our last day.

And, I'm fine with that. Maybe next time I'll have 3-way duck or whatever it is. :)

I like everything except the Teppan Edo. My personal opinion is that it's over priced and the portions are tiny.

I'm sad about the Brown Derby, Cy, and I hope your wait to be seated at Mama Melrose (the restaurant that I'm assuming replaced it?) is better than our waits have been at that restaurant. The food is decent there, but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

I ate at Mama Melrose last year during my Hurricane extension and it was great. The service was average where they didn't rush you out, but were not ignoring you. The only issue we had was just getting seated as their computers crashed. However, they were super nice about it and gave everyone waiting a ticket to act as a fastpass for Star Tours 2.

Len, we had a seating issue, too, both in 2005 and last May. The kids were signed up for the Padawan Mind Challenge at 6:30. We arrived at MM at 4:30 but didn't get seated until almost 5:30! We had to rush through ordering and eating in order to make it for check in at 6:10.

Their computers must crash on a regular basis.

Even in September,we could never get a reservation for Lecellier in Canada when it was worth 1 credit! Now it takes 2 credits and we still cant get a reservation!:( Is it worth 2 credits? The Hoop-dee-doo is worth 2 credits! The castle is worth 2 credits! The luau at the Polynesian didnt seem worthy of 2 credits! at the 2 credit resturants, your 2nd helping of meat isnt the same quality as your 1st helping! i

It's a rare occurrence that seconds taste as good as firsts - anywhere. You're just not as hungry, so the appetite isn't as active.

Are you sure that Le Cellier is two credits? I was under the impression that the only thing that are two credits are the character meals (and even some of those are only one).

But even if Le Cellier is two credits.. YES YES YES it is worth it.

Three words:

CHEDDAR CHEESE SOUP.

That ALONE is worth it... seriously. But yes the food is WONDERFUL,. make a reservation early and spend the credits,I swear you wont regret it.
