It isn't that hard actually, architectural mapping has been done by others, then picked up by disney. The programs do the bulk of the work, adjusting light levels for the topography. Check out what they did on Small World.

True, much of the music had been previously released, but actually some audio was only available in that boxset, such as the complete HM audio in Japanese (the stretching room segment was available on the HM CD released at DL), or alternate versions of the audio, and some area music that has never been on CD. DL's boxset slipped alternate or previously unreleased music in its audio, such as some of the music used in the Splash Mtn audio.

That's pretty much standard for all box sets, less than 10% new content and all the rest is stuff you may have (in the case of the TDS one it might even be repeats between CDs) but if you want the songs legally (or quasi if you are outside the country of production) then you have to buy it.

The Disneyland 50th set was really nice -- I would buy an EPCOT Center set. All the background music would fill up hours of CDs. The sad part now is most of the music used at Epcot is non original music. All the old attractions had original themes and lots of background music that mixed that with the other pavilions. It made you feel like you were at EPCOT Center. Still remember being at Disneyland's Space Mountain bathrooms and hearing the old Universe of Energy theme and wishing I was back in time and in EPCOT. (an old timer thinking about the good old days). :)

A retro Epcot CD set would be fabulous. I never went before 1993, and didn't go back there again until 1998, so I missed out on a lot. I love the current music in that park, and would love a CD set just for that, and another for the no-longer heard music.

Overall, I think the limited amount of retro Epcot merch Disney has made lately is among the best stuff on property. Two of my fave purchases last year are the blue retro logo tumbler and the predominantly blue with bright colors logo t-shirt (even if it is a men's t-shirt and way too humungous for me).

I am hoping more goodies will be there next month, and that some of the 30th stuff, pins or otherwise, ends up on the online store.

That is amazing. Hopefully, they do that projection of this onto the ball...like they do with the Castle. I'd bet they do! I HOPE they do!

*I LOVE* that pin.. I am gonna have to find that one way or another.

I really hope they have some nice 30th anniversary EPCOT t-shirts that I can buy. I'll be in Disney World the last week in October. And October 17th of this year (just 10 days before our trip), I will be celebrating MY 30th birthday - so I would love to commemorate both me and EPCOT turning 30 in the same month! :-)

Does that mean two decades down the road when EPCOT is celebrating its 50th that you will be celebrating your...39th? :?
