Just a heads up that the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor will be closed for almost three months starting January 4th and ending towards the end of March.

Wow ~ that is a long refurbMadEye wrote:Just a heads up that the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor will be closed for almost three months starting January 4th and ending towards the end of March.
I know, but it could always be moved. There has always been a sponser company for the shop, Sealtest, and I can't remember what the company was the last time I visited, but it's never really the greatest ice cream available. As far as I know Disney has never made their own ice cream. More likely though they will be doing something similar to what you suggested.dstrawn9889 wrote:allready got a ghiradellis on site... at DTD. would think that maybe they would copy the bakery idea from DLR, move the bakery there and revamp more of MSUSA... Before a company other than Disney moves into main street
If I'm not mistaken, most of the "Disney" ice cream is Edy's (I remember seeing it mentioned at MK years ago and the logo for Edy's is displayed outside the Fountainview Cafe at Epcot). As for Ghiradelli, they probably would have mentioned something about it moving when they confirmed it was coming to DCA. I hope not, as that is a small spot for a Ghiradelli.Sharonofwindham wrote:I know, but it could always be moved. Unfortunately I doubt it'll be anything besides installing new equipment as the bakery and the Plaza Inn would have to also close (at least parts of them) to help in any expansion. As long as the menu stays the same, I'm fine with just an update for the shop.horizons1 wrote:Right, MadEye, it is Edys. Maybe they will expand the space a bit - it is always really packed and that is the only place for actual ice cream (I think) in the MK. The other locations only sell soft serv.
So true about it being too small... as it is, the current location always seems to be busting at the seamsMadEye wrote:If I'm not mistaken, most of the "Disney" ice cream is Edy's (I remember seeing it mentioned at MK years ago and the logo for Edy's is displayed outside the Fountainview Cafe at Epcot). Don't get your hopes up. From the looks of it, it seems to just be a fresh coat of paint and new equipment.DemonOfMusic wrote:Whoa. This has been one of my favorite Disney restaurants since I was really little- can't wait to see what they do with it.
That's a really long time for such a small refurb.MadEye wrote:Don't get your hopes up. From the looks of it, it seems to just be a fresh coat of paint and new equipment.
