With the new Muppets movie opening on Thursday does anyone know if there will be any special events around the "World" for it?

If they do, it will be at the AMC at DTD. Maybe a midnight showing tomorrow night, not sure. There was nothing at DHS yesterday saying that they were doing anything special at the parks.

AMC (country wide from what I've seen) is having special previews tonight at midnight and DTD is one of them. The first 50 people get a free Muppets poster.

I'm not surprised that nothing major is going on considering that they haven't updated the movie in 20 years.

Updated as in changing the film to digital or a different show entirely?

And I was wrong. AMC's are having midnight showings tonight, not last night. Great for me and my girlfriend since she is off tomorrow and I plan on getting a free poster!!

Changing the film to digital would be a hardware upgrade at best, updating as in making the film itself less dated is what I am getting at (or just making a new one). Even the logo on the back of the fire truck hasn't been used in ages.

They are way ahead of you as it's already done. And I doubt they would re-do the movie as it is one of the last things Jim Henson did before he died and a lot of major Muppet fans know it and would be extremely mad.

I knew it, what I was saying is what the move is classified as. The movie itself is stale and dated, yes it's a shame that he died but the company didn't die with him and that probably would be the last thing he would want, people clinging to some 20 year old movie rather than moving on.

I suggest seeing the movie. Even if you aren't a huge Muppet fan, I think many people will like it. I'll definitely see it again!

Hopefully it makes it to the cheap theater - then I'll see it.
