They re-did Space Mountain with all new track for the 50th. Who knows what they will do for the WDW 50th (after all, AVATAR will probably be for the 45th)...
Happy Birthday WDW! Just seems like October 1971 was just yesterday! Actually, as soon as I can get the TARDIS warmed up it will be tomorrow...

I am still so not happy I could not be in Florida today... oh well. I'll be there for the 50th in ten years and there for Epcot's 30th in 365 days!

A happy 40th Anniversary to the Walt Disney World Resort. Of interesting note, the Magic Kingdom, Polynesian, and Contemporary all turned 40 today. EPCOT celebrated it's 29th Anniversary and Caribbean Beach turned 23.

Seems like some special merchandise for the day along with free buttons and the park map like an old ticket book. There was the castle show which is already on youtube and Wishes celebrated the day. I like that they did something to ensure the day didn't go by unnoticed but I do think they could have done more.

Well, granted, the 40th anniversary certainly isn't as big a milestone as the 50th will be.... I'll be holding out for that in 10 years.
