The concepts have them flora and fauna of the planet as parts of the rides and décor.

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
Does anyone know if the Festival of the Lion King will be coming back? I'd rather have that than an Avatar park.
When I was in AK recently and a castmember said they were putting in an Avatar thing, my heart kind of sank. I was like, WHY? I thought that movie was emotionalless and boring (except for Sigourney Weaver).

I believe they are simply relocating the Festival of the Lion King ~ near the Tusker House. I'm not sure when it is reopening though.kelpseaweedkelp wrote:Does anyone know if the Festival of the Lion King will be coming back? I'd rather have that than an Avatar park.

Never saw Avatar, but I'm hoping for good things out of the expansion

Ugh, even after all this time, AVATAR in AKL still is bad idea...

I completely agree! Isn't a themed "land" based on a movie more appropriately placed in DHS? It would be nice to keep DAK based completely around animals and their habitats - even extinct ones like dinosaurs.mindflipper wrote:Ugh, even after all this time, AVATAR in AKL still is bad idea...

It is appropriate wherever theme dictates I would imagine. If they threw it in DHS you would suddenly end up with a section densely filled with trees, plus having to build another massive tree.

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
Remember that Animal Kingdom was meant to have some kind of "fantastical" component to it in the beginning...so adding Avatar Land to the fold isn't going against the grain.
I presume that there will be more focus on the foliage and overall beauty of the area rather than it being Pandora...because long-term that works best for Disney. Sure, there will be Pandora-specific things there, but I have a feeling it won't be too in-your-face.

Good point - that's why that Dragon is still in the AK logo. I really wish some stuff had come out of that - that would of been cool - wait, I guess they have the Yeti!

I avoid "the hot park" at all costs. Here's another reason to do so! Well, if they're going to mess up a park, it might as well be DAK.

Aren't they going to build another massive tree anyway?Wizzard419 wrote:It is appropriate wherever theme dictates I would imagine. If they threw it in DHS you would suddenly end up with a section densely filled with trees, plus having to build another massive tree.
