AVATAR coming to WDW
We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
I just saw this as well and do not understand it at all!!! If anything it belongs at DHS. It's one thing to have Carsland at DCA, it was a DIsney/Pixar movie. Avatar had no affiliation with Disney what so ever!! This is a travesty!

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
Alien, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Twilight Zone all had nothing to do with Disney either. (granted Alien is only one section of a major attraction but it is one of the memorable)
And if you keep reading, it says DAK is just the first place Avatar will appear.

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
It should be at DHS, not DAK. It's a MOVIE not affiliated with Diz - isn't all of that over at DHS? Once again, abuse the theming....

You should see Facebook, it is on almost every other post on my news feed. Guess I have a lot of Disney friends
And not much of what I am seeing is a positive reaction so far either...

Frankly, I think Disney feels this is their answer to combat the Harry Potter area over at USO's IoA.
Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
I HATE THIS MOVIE. Seriously, I don't get the hype. It's really amazing visually but I think the storyline is overdone.
I'm not complaining about an expansion but when I first heard the rumours ABOUT expanding, I was not expecting this.
I'm surprised James Cameron let them have the rights to do this...

Yes, all of those movies are in attractions, or have their own attracton in a MOVIE themed park. They are giving Avatar an entire LAND! That is ridiculous! Whats next? a Twilightland added onto Liberty Square perhaps? or how about Re-locating Marvel Island as well from IOA???

Calm down...
As for Marvel, you can bet on it in, I'd say 5 - 10 years. As for Twilight, I doubt Disney is that stupid.
I'm interested in your thoughts on Star Tours being in Tomorrowland or Indiana Jones in Adventureland at DL...

I haven't been to DL since I was 8 so I never experienced them there, but I don't feel like they should be in DL.

Technically, with IJ-TOFE over at DLR, the queue is Adventureland, the ride is not. That is one long walk....MadEye wrote:Calm down...

At the time Star Tours and IJ-TOFE were added at DL, there was not a second theme park such as DCA at the time in DLR. Otherwise, if DCA had existed at the time, they would have added to the Hollywood section like they did with TZ-ToT.
And I agree, Amy, Cameron is doing it for the almighty $$$$. Probably a deal connected with Avatar 2 in order to help finance it.
And I agree, Soarin08, I never understood the hype on this film. Cameron stole from other films such as Dances with Wolves, Pocahantas, and Dune when writing the script. There was very little original story. The only thing that was incredible about the film was the technology behind the scenes to accomplish the digital characters.
Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
That's probably the best attitude to take . I've never seen the movie myself, but I'm open to the idea.MadEye wrote:Calm down...
