Toy Story Midway Mania Strategy

So, I could use some advice on our strategy for TSMM. Although we're spending 8 days at the parks, we are only devoting one day to Hollywood Studios. We will have early admission from our character breakfast at 8:15. I plan to head straight for the TSMM FastPass at 9AM while the kids finish breakfast, so we should be ok there, but what if the kids want to ride it more than once? Personally I hope they won't be amazingly thrilled by it, since we have the Wii game at home and it's not all that exciting. Should we just get another FastPass after we ride, or consider standby right after breakfast?

I'm thinking they're going to love TSM! I would recommend getting another FP if possible and you can always see how long stand-by is, it usually gets longer and longer as the day goes on.

I agree with b-babe. The kids are probably going to really like it ~ it pulls you in with the pull-string excitement! FP, get another FP if you can, and then standby if the line is short. I would think you might be able to get in toward the end of the evening too maybe?

Yes, we're still undecided on Fantasmic, so a 3rd time could be an option:).

I would recommend having everyone get a fastpass and get into the Stand-By entrance right after breakfast. The line should be about 30 minutes or less if you are there right around 9am. Then your fast passes will be ready about an hour later. When you use it, grab another one when you get off the ride. It should probably be for mid-afternoon by then. If the kids love it, then you go again then. If they don't want to do it again, then you can make friends by giving your FP away.

I would suggest doing just that... Get your fastpass then get in line and ride... As soon as it opens you won't wait to terribly long. Then when you come back out you should be able to grab another fastpass giving you three rides total but only waiting once.

I would see if you could get a FP and send the rest of your family on into the standby line while you do so, then go ahead and join them after. We usually do this to get in two rides.

If you are looking to get a high score look at past episodes of WDW today. I have one podcast on my Iphone that is all about TSM and how to score high on it!

I can vouch for how not to get a high score ~ holding a digital recorder in one hand, a camera in another and trying to shoot all at the same time didn't lead to very high scores   Oh, and trying to keep the 3D glasses in front of the camera so the images didn't come out all fuzzy

Don't people get upset when you do that? I wouldn't want anyone to think I was cutting the line...

I think people don't mind so much when it is only one person joining their family in line. When about 5 or 6 people join in the line, then people start to get a little testy...

Just make sure you have a little kid with you and pretend he/she had to go to the bathroom. ;)

BIG, that's fantastically clever! It almost makes me wish I had children just so I could do that... :mickey:

That is a clever idea! It didn't work so well for us when we did that in the Candlelight Processional line though. I got in line while F1gment went to the bathroom, then, we finally got her back in line but there was a lot of grumbling from a lot of people other than those who had been right by me :(

I think it works really with small kids only; thanks to abuse of wheelchairs being used by those who are not disabled and anyone can use a scooter, maybe they're not as sympathetic with the real impaired as they all can relate untimely bladder of a small child?
