Monorail Night (aka the Monorail Crawl)

Post by cousininmiami » May Sun 29, 2011 10:19 am

Has anyone ever done (or attempted) a Monorail evening? It involves all three resorts on the Monorail. I suppose it would be an appetizer and drink at one resort, hop on the Monorail and do dinner at the next resort, and follow it with a Monorail trip to the last resort for dessert and coffee. We are going to attempt this in July! How about some suggestions, or ideas of where to go, and how! It sounds like it would be fun!

That doesn't seem like much of a crawl or a challenge... that sounds more like a traveling dinner party. :D With a crawl you have to hit enough bars that you are literally crawling by the end.

Hmm that sounds interesting. I don't recall ever hearing of that before so I am very interested to know how that goes.

Hmmm... I'm surprised people don't do a "tapas tour" through world showcase actually. (Small plates at several/all of the sit down places)

Well, it's supposed to be a crawl, drinks in all the hotels with the food of course. But I was trying to not focus on the adult beverages because there is already the thread going about drinking around the world! So, either a crawl with a moving dinner, whatever it is... we're gonna try it!

That does indeed sound interesting. I'll be excited to hear how it goes. The only hitch I could think of would be the transportation time.

Alright...sounds like DW and I have to put this on our agenda in a few weeks!

We have done the Monorail resort hopping before...and did drinks at the Poly...but not at the Contemporary and Grand Floridian. I'm thinking maybe we could get a drink at the GF...then a bite to eat at the Contemporary (not sure where just yet)...then a Dole Whip at the Poly. We'll be staying at BLT a few nights so hopefully this will be a possibility. Great idea!

That sounds like a good plan! Then you can let cousininmiami know if it is worth taking the time. Sounds like a nice relaxing evening really. If you time it right, you can catch Wishes at the Poly with your Dole Whip :D

Would that be a single lap, stop at every bar in every hotel, or just keep doing laps till you can't walk? :D

Maybe Disney can save the time by at night having cars on the monorail fitted with a full bar?

Then it would be a Monorail Crawl - because after a few loops around, you would be totally looped and crawling off....
