This has probably been discussed before, but I couldn't find a thread about it readily. Where is the best spot for viewing Illuminations?

We try to get a dinner reservation at the Rose and Crown in England for around 6:30 - 7 pm. Then we go to the podium and ask for a waterside table. They usually say that the wait will be longer, sometimes up to another hour, and we say OK no problem. Then go enjoy England, while waiting for your table. Once you get the table, order drinks, appetizers, and eat slowly! Soon enough, lluminations will begin and you have a table, front and center to the action. We always tip the server very well for their nice table!! It's relaxing, comfortable, and a great view!

We've got them at the Rose and Crown for 6:45, but that's probably going to be too early since Illuminations won't be until 9. I should see if we can get a later time, but that's probably impossible at this point.

I also like the spot in between Italy and American Adventure, to the side of the Theater closest to italy...they hold a lot of events there so it's not always available.

We watched Illuminations with the Mouskecouple this past December between Mexico and Norway. That was a perfect spot :D

No, that's a perfect time! Just ask at the check-in for a table near the water or waterside. They will make you wait a little longer but the time will be just perfect if timed right! Have a great time!

On the boat that parks under the bridge between France and the UK pavillions. :D

We had a nice vantage point in front of China in January 2010.

Just outside of Mexico, and you can have a margarita while you wait.

Not necessarily. It's hard to see it from behind the rocks in front of the Africa Trading Post.

But I would imagine on either side it might be nice ~ it is a little higher up and you might catch a nice breeze in the evening...

We once were ready to watch on the bridge next to France but the crowd swelled and we were getting crowded back from our spots so we said heck with it (because we were super tired)-sat down on the far side of the bridge and ate crepes. We HEARD the whole show but saw none of it. I can verify that the back of the bridge is not a great place to view Illuminations (unless you really, really tall). :P

BTW I lost a really great pair on sunglasses that night on the bridge-just got up and left them sitting there. 8-)

The area around the Africa trading post and the drawbridge is the worst location I have ever seen Illuminations from. My favorite location is anywhere from France to Japan.

I would agree that side of the lagoon has the better view than the other side of the lagoon opposite from that.
