Given the new Star Tours opens May 21st I was expecting a better guest line-up than that (unless they're surprise guests they don't want to announce just yet)...

That's what I'm hoping for.

Either that or they know that the fans will come regardless and may even come in larger numbers based on a false rumor that they never took the time out to deny.

...or it's as I said before: the big deal with the ST2 opening is at Disneyland and Disney World as usual gets shafted.

I wouldn't say that, there is no promise of any LucasFilm personalities for DLR, right? For all we know the opening is going to be a few people in costume, a guy from that list above (or Leia talking about how John Travolta is g**) and the president or VP of Disneyland Resorts. Oh and the usual load of radio stations. Do people still listen to the normal radio or has it gone the way of the print newspaper?

Isn't there a guest list for the DLR opening?

I was there last year on the first day of SWW, and will be there again this year. It was JAMMED. I wanted to get a pin and maybe a 2nd item from the store, and the wait to get into the special store was almost 2 hours. Last year was the 30th anniversary of the release of ?????, so it was special. I have the feeling it is that busy always though.

Haven't seen any (just did a search on the opening ceremony for June). Oddly enough found that DLRP isn't getting it anytime soon and that Lucas was present for the WDW one when it opened.

I thought TDL was still running on the original Star Tours as well. Maybe both will be converted some time after the USA conversions...

They are still may get it, it just said that the DLRP guy has no plans on the table for Star Tours (I'm guessing a money issue).

...or waiting for WDW and DLR to work out all the bug issues after ST2 goes live. Having it fully de-bugged first makes it cheaper to install for DLP and TDL.

I think it's more of a money thing (and possibly a rights thing since it's a different country), he flatly stated it wasn't being planned.

Honestly, it does seem like DLP has been concentrating on trying to shore up the Studios more...

It might not be money though, now that you speak of it I forgot they are doing the Rattatoule ride and expanding it like crazy.
